I finally got to try Lucky Red! This restaurant is a brother restaurant to Banh Mi Boys (literally) as the brothers each opened up a shop which both sell steamed baos with various toppings in it. (There’s more to the story than that, Google it yourself to find out more!)
Our reservation was set for 6 p.m. on a Friday evening and there weren’t too many people here yet.
After some drinks to start, our food shortly arrived.
I tried a sip of the Blanche de Chambly from Sedef and really liked how smooth this beer was!
The Steamed Pork Belly Bao was absolutely delicious!! It was what I had expected but in reality, it blew me out of the water even more. The bao was perfectly steamed so that it was soft and cushy and the flavour of the sauce within the bao was perfect! I absolutely loved this bao. 😀
The Duck Gravy Poutine was quite delicious. I liked the giant cheese curds and the fries with the sauce.
The Fried Chicken was something I had been craving for after seeing gorgeous photos of it on instagram. It arrived on a plate with some pickles and limes.
This fried chicken wasn’t what I expected. It was a bit sweet. Its skin was fried and super hot! I had to wait for it to cool down first since it had just come out from the fryer.

We made a reservation for our table at 6 p.m. There were people waiting for a table by the time we left
That was a brief glimpse into Lucky Red for me. I loved their steamed baos and would have another one any day of the week! 🙂
