August 24 & 26, 2018: I came back for more PERi-PERi chicken. 😀
Read my recap of the grand opening event that I attended at this new Markham location of Nando’s PERi-PERi Chicken here.
On this follow-up visit, I tried the Whole Chicken, Casa Salad, PERi-PERi Vegetables (I actually wanted the Macho Peas again but they were sold out on this Friday evening), Chicken Livers, and Chicken Skewers! These were all items that I didn’t have on my first visit. 😀
After trying the Whole Chicken order, I can conclude that it is still better to order the quarter or Double Leg options. The breast part of the Whole Chicken was a bit dry and thus not the best part of the chicken to eat. The juicy and tender leg and thigh parts are still the best. 😀
The PERi-PERi Vegetables contained a lot more peppers than I imagined. This was quite spicy as well.
The Casa Salad contained fresh raw veggies in a bowl with a heavy reliance on the available salad dressings since nothing else came with it.
The Grilled Chicken Livers arrived in the Medium spice sauce even though I had asked for it to be Lime and Mango. Oh, well. Luckily the Medium heat wasn’t too spicy and the chicken livers were quite tasty! The Nando’s roll that came with it was very complementing.
The Double Skewers were in Lemon & Herb flavour and pretty good. The chef must have slathered on more sauce than normal because it was quite saucy (I liked it). The skewers were pure chicken breast meat though so it was a bit more solid and firm with no fat within.
I’ve pretty much tried everything on the Nando’s menu now! 😀
Very thoughtful blogg
Thank you, Christine.
