December 3, 2019: Peking Man Restaurant is named after and known for their Peking duck dish, but we came here for a quick and simple meal. Peking Man Restaurant is located at 1110 Sheppard Avenue East on the ground level with other commercial medical buildings.

I would say our visit was decent.

Dim sum menu

Fresh preserved vegetable and chicken slices noodle soup. $8.50

We walked in at 4:45 p.m. and were one of two tables dining in. We ordered a noodle soup with fresh preserved vegetables and chicken, and it was actually good! It arrived to our table in 5 minutes only, which was appreciated. The portion was so big and we had some leftovers. The noodles tasted like the ones you would make at home. The chicken strips and vegetables were tender and fresh. It seems that the preserved vegetables that they used were the fresh kind too. Usually, the preserved darker kinds are more salty.

I’m impressed they gave us a sturdy plastic takeout box for the leftovers.

This restaurant has been here for so many years. It’s a bit run down but still very spacious, bright, and moderately clean.

It’s a good place for a quick meal when visiting the adjacent medical centres. I remember back in the day accompanying my grandmother to this plaza for a medical appointment. After the appointment, we had dined at Peking Duck Restaurant to eat dim sum.

January 7, 2020: We came here again after a medical appointment for a quick meal. This time, we ordered the dumplings and same soup noodles as last time. The food was just as good.
