Chicken Hot Pot at The Great Restaurant 一品雞煲火鍋 (Hong Kong)

Located at G/F, 73 Chung On Street, Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong

For our last meal in HK on our fall trip in 2014, we visited an extremely popular restaurant in Tsun Wan.  It’s so popular that you must ensure you go there early before it opens at 5:30 p.m. in order to line up to get a table.  My friend Jennifer recommended this to me, saying that ‘chicken pot’ places are all the rage now in Hong Kong.  Upon hearing that, I knew I immediately had to get myself to it before I left HK (food blogger that wants to stay ahead of the ‘trends’).   Continue reading

Butao Ramen (Hong Kong)

Located at Shop 167, 1/F., New Town Plaza, 18 Sha Tin Centre Street, Sha Tin in Hong Kong

For noontime lunch on a Friday, we headed to another one of Jennifer’s recommendations: Butao.  It’s a Japanese ramen restaurant that has chains located all around Hong Kong.  I knew it was a ramen shop but other than that, didn’t know what to expect of the place.   Continue reading

Ka Ma Do Japanese Dining 火間土 (Hong Kong)

Located at Shop A, 16/F, Lee Theatre Plaza, 99 Percival Street, Causeway Bay in Hong Kong

I’m so happy that I got to try this restaurant before I left my Hong Kong trip this time!!  This kind of restaurant is called Japanese “faun tei” and it’s essentially all-you-can-eat-Japanese food but they call it this name.  Why not call it buffet?   Continue reading

Agave Tequila Y Comida (Hong Kong)

Located in Shop C & D, 93 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai in Hong Kong

The other day, when we were in Wan Chai looking for a place to eat lunch, we actually passed by this restaurant called Agave Tequila Y Comida before we ate at Wing Wah Noodle Shop.  So when we were in this area again, this restaurant seemed like a good spot to stop at to try.  Agave is a Mexican restaurant that seems authentically Mexican and Western from its interior and decor.   Continue reading

Teppan-Yakitori (Hong Kong)

Located at Shop 20-21, 4/F, apm Millennium City 5, 418 Kwun Tong Road, Kwun Tong in Hong Kong

Teppan-Yakitori is a Japanese restaurant located in the apm shopping mall that serves food in both teppan and yakitori style, hence the name.  Teppanyaki is a type of Japanese cooking that uses an iron griddle to cook food and yakitori refers to food that is skewered.

I was very interested to try this restaurant out after Jennifer had recommended it to us but we didn’t get to go since their line-up didn’t work out with our preferences.  Thus, my mom and I went there the day afterwards to try it!  I can’t resist seeing a great restaurant like this and not getting the chance to try it. 🙂

(To be continued… Stay tuned. )

TamJai SamGor (Hong Kong)

Located at Shop 48-51, 3/F., Hilton Plaza. 3-9 Sha Tin Centre Street, Sha Tin in Hong Kong

After having dinner with Jennifer and having an amazing conversation where she shared with me many great places to eat at in Hong Kong, I immediately consulted her list when going for lunch with my mom the next day.  I wish I had this list of restaurants sooner!

One of the restaurants that she recommended was called TamJai SamGor which is a cross-bridge noodles restaurant.   Continue reading

Häagen-Dazs in Hong Kong

Located at Shop 7, 1/F, apm Millennium City 5, 418 Kwun Tong Road, Kwun Tong in Hong Kong

Oh yum!!!  I got to try out an icy creation at one of the branches at Häagen-Dazs in Hong Kong. 😀  This was my first time eating at this well-known and fancy pants ice cream shop — YOLO.  Previously, I’ve noticed how posh they are and how a lot of people tend to go crazy for Häagen-Dazs ice cream (usually girls) while I’ve never been that fond of them.  Continue reading
