For lunch, we had quasi-Italian food at a classy-looking restaurant called Parkview Restaurant in the Sha Tin New Town Plaza. I call it quasi because you know it’s not truly authentic but it is definitely in the realm of Italian food.
We had the lunch sets, Seafood Spaghetti with Lobster Cream Sauce and Black Truffle Paste, Hokkaido Scallop and Mushroom with Stewed Organic Brown Rice. It also came with a bread roll of your choice plus a salad or a soup. The bread rolls come from a bakery affiliated with the restaurant and also just so happens to have a branch on the opposite side of the restaurant in the Sha Tin Shopping mall. We chose the Cheese Bun (no surprise there) and the Soft Bun. It also came with a choice of ‘sauce’. We chose the Homemade Tomato Salsa Sauce and the Anchovy Fillet Olive Oil. Yum!!
The Cheese Bun smelled of light cheese and the Soft Bun was indeed soft and light.. The Homemade Tomato Salsa was so tomato-y — you could tell that this restaurant used really fine ingredients for their food. The Anchovy Fillet Olive Oil was rich in olive oil and salty anchovies which I really enjoyed.
The salad was lightly dressed and the daily pumpkin soup was light but rich. Great starts to the lunch ahead!
The service here was prompt and the place was packed!
We also had orange juice instead of tea or coffee. 🙂
Lunch entrees were yum! The Seafood Spaghetti with Lobster Cream Sauce was nicely textured; not too hard or soft, and seasoned just right. It was also cut to the right length too! There were two pieces of each seafood; perfect to share.
The brown rice with black truffle sauce really brought out the flavour. The scallops were good but the mushrooms tasted even better since they had soaked up all the sauce. Yum!! I loved the hot brown seasoned rice. 🙂
Lunch was great! Great portions and appetizers. The only thing missing was dessert; something sweet.
We asked them for the lunch menu but they were just switching over to Afternoon Tea so we got that menu instead. Instead of spending money for another tea set just because our taste buds wanted something cheap, we decided we were good and left.
Parkview is a classy Italian-inspired restaurant. The food, flavour, quality, and portions are recommendable. 🙂
