Jamie’s Italian Yorkdale restaurant opened sometime last year in December and I had heard lots about it seeing as it was chef Jamie Oliver’s very first restaurant in Canada and North America. Jamie Oliver opened it in conjunction with the chef, Francesco Venditti, of Bar Buca at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. Il Gelato di Carlotta located at 6380 Fallsview Blvd, Niagara Falls
We had some gelato at this relatively newly opened gelato shop at the Fallsview Resort in Niagara this past weekend! The gelato at Il Gelato di Carlotta proved to be one of the best gelatos I have ever had — it’s like visiting Italy for their gelato but not having to get on a plane. My mom and I got the split cup of two flavours to share: tiramisu and mango. The tiramisu tasted exactly like tiramisu cake and instead of using lady fingers, they used a spongy cake to soak the rum in so there were bits of rum-soaked cake in the actual gelato. Tino’s Pizza Café is located in Tai Po in Hong Kong. It is a nicely designed modern café and boasts authentic pizza and Italian dishes.

Wow, what an amazing tasting menu we had last night at Doma! Doma is a newly opened French inspired Korean restaurant (just opened about 2 weeks ago at the time of writing) located in the heart of Little Italy at 50C Clinton Street in Toronto. Two foodie friends and I decided to try this new restaurant out after seeing them interact with our accounts on Instagram.
ViBo Restaurant located at 2995 Bloor St W in Toronto
After participating in a restaurant launch party just blocks down the street, some foodie friends and I decided to visit ViBo Restaurant for an actual sit-down dinner. ViBo Restaurant was listed on Yelp as highly rated Italian restaurant that was close by, so the six of us decided to try it without hesitation.

It’s Not This Time of Year Without… a Christmas tree!!! Even though it has been many years since we have put up a decorated tree in our own home (we just haven’t unfortunately.. even though the actual tree is sitting in the basement), this time of the year just doesn’t feel seasonal and giddy without the first sight of a Christmas tree (and more!). This is one of the first trees I have seen this year. It was all lit up, tall and big, shining so beautifully. Table 21 Kitchen & Wine Bar was formerly called Stratosphere Gastrolounge and Wine Bar but has now been newly renovated and reimagined with a new chef, new name, and new signage. Continue reading
Grandeur Palace located at 2301 Brimley Rd in Scarborough
Grandeur Palace is the newest dim sum restaurant to appear in Scarborough after re-inventing itself after the former Dragon Dynasty Chinese Cuisine restaurant at the Chartwell Plaza closed its doors. Grandeur Palace has completely renovated its interiors so that you cannot recognize the former restaurant’s space at all (other than the washrooms.. the layout is the same but they did jazz it up with new tiles). Gourmet Food & Wine Expo 2016 located at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building in Toronto
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending my first Gourmet Food & Wine Expo with Ken! I had never been there before but had always heard about it in the media so I was extra excited to attend and check out what it was going to be like.
This year in 2016, the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo was held at the Metro Convention Centre in the North Building from November 17 to 20, Friday evening into Sunday. We were there for the Saturday expo (you buy the tickets online or on-site). We arrived early just after noon and were one of the first handful to arrive. Continue reading
