I remember earlier this year when I was sent to work out of a new location in Mississauga, I saw this beautiful new view of the city that I had never seen before. Spicy Mafia located at 20 Gibson Drive, Unit 111A in Markham
Last night, I had the pleasure to dine at one of the newest hot pot restaurants in Markham called Spicy Mafia! Spicy Mafia is located at 20 Gibson Drive and takes over the spot where HOPO used to be. Spicy Mafia is a hot pot restaurant that specializes in mini hot pot and noodle pots customized for the customer in individual pots! This means that you get to choose your own soup base, your own meats, dipping sauces, and noodles! Continue reading
A-Game Café located at 240 Queen Street West, 2nd Floor in Toronto
A-Game Café is a board game café situated on Queen Street West in the heart of Toronto. At the time of writing, they have a Groupon deal where you only have to pay $12 for unlimited gameplay for two people with a $10 food credit too. The regular sitting fee at A-Game Cafe is $3.50 per person per hour or $7 per person for unlimited gameplay. This Groupon deal of just $12 was definitely one of the best deals to get to have a fun afternoon of board game playing in this cafe! Continue reading
Dragon Boat Fusion Cuisine located at 160 E Beaver Creek Rd #4-6 in Richmond Hill
Dim Sum at Dragon Boat Fusion Cuisine is a highly regarded Chinese restaurant serving dim sum in the Richmond Hill region. Many people say that it serves some of the best dim sum in town and that in order to get a table during the weekends, you have to arrive early and line-up even before the restaurant is open! (Indeed, I have seen a friend’s photo on Facebook where the line-up wound around the corner of the restaurant.) Ken and I were excited to try this place out. 😀
Dragon Boat Fusion Cuisine opens at 9 a.m. every day. I heard that people say that you have to be there by 8:30 a.m. to get a table on the weekend so we were there promptly by around 8:40 a.m.
Hot Taste Restaurant located at 324 Highway 7 East, Unit 1 in Richmond Hill
It was Friday night and my mom and I dined at this restaurant that we hadn’t been to before. Hot Taste Restaurant (糊塗樓) is located at the Ho-View Plaza on Highway 7 near Chalmers Road and is a Chinese Sichuan restaurant. Just as the name of the restaurant implies, they serve a lot of spicy and hot food! Just as the name of the restaurant implies, they serve a lot of spicy and hot food!

The Yellow Griffin Pub located at 2202 Bloor St W in Toronto
After a really unsatisfying tasting event across the street, Priscilla and I were in search of some casual and low-key food. We had passed by The Yellow Griffin Pub when we were strolling through the Bloor West Village neighbourhood prior to the event and we were attracted by its appealing storefront as well as their “35 burgers (to choose from)” sign.
Maison Fou Brasserie located at 2197 Bloor St W in Toronto
Maison Fou Brasserie is a new French restaurant in the Bloor West Village across from Runnymede Station in the west end of Toronto. They invited me to their grand opening open house reception this past Thursday where they served samples of their food and drinks.
The event was slated to run from 7 to 10 p.m., which was much later than most foodie events I have been to. Continue reading
Patisserie 27 located at 401 Jane St in Toronto
Patisserie 27 is a cute little Japanese-French based bakery located in the west end of Toronto at 401 Jane Street. After getting off at Jane Subway Station and taking one bus north for four stops, we arrived at the doorstep of Patisserie 27! It was a one unit store and you could see the entire area of the shop from the outside. There were just three tables and a couple of seats for you to dine in but for the most part, it seemed more of a take-away place. Continue reading

There’s no other way to relax for me than to go to a spa and have an amazing and relaxing body massage. No matter what is happening, once I’m lying face down on that comfy bed with the warm and fluffy covers over me, I can totally relax. This is a photo of one of the massage places that I go to occasionally. It is The Spa at the Niagara Fallsview Resort and their amenities are amazing! After Willa and I had some fun trying to catch pokemon at Hoi Sham Park at To Kwa Wan, we walked to find a spot for lunch. Unfortunately, the rustic Hong Kong style cafe that she wanted to bring me to was closed that day so we headed off to the closest shopping plaza (Grand Waterfront Plaza) and ate at Kings (H.K.
