A couple of weeks ago, I received an e-mail from a representative from Media Nexus Network about an “Influencer Photography & Networking Event” (later branded as a “Networking & Photography Workshop” in a subsequent follow-up e-mail).  Within the e-mail, the representative described that this was an event where photography workshops would be set up for bloggers to create content, share ideas, and collaborate on site.   Continue reading

When Grace Cho, the chef and co-owner at Té, reached out to me about visiting her restaurant for a complimentary tasting in order to get my feedback and review on Zomato I was excited and looking forward to the meal!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Transmogrify

crowds of people playing Pokemon Go

Signal Hill, TST, Hong Kong. September 2016

Transmogrify,” which means “to change in appearance or form, especially strangely or grotesquely; transform.”  Asides from the usual photos of butterflies, street art, or autumn colours, which I feel like has been overdone, the photo I’m choosing this week is typical of the activities that I partook in while I was in Hong Kong just a month ago:   Continue reading

South Korea 2016 Day 2: Palaces, Coffee, Lanterns, & Food Trucks

Seafood feast in Gangneung

Seafood feast with fresh fish soup and seafood by the ocean in Gangneung!

Day 2 Korea.  Sept. 15, 2016

Today was a really great second day in the land of kimchi and palaces (got to eat/see both of those today)!

In the morning, we locked up our hanok VERY securely with one of the primitive forms of lock and key — a chain with a stick 😂 — and then headed to the little cafe called Café Lee Mong right in the Gangneung Seongyojang village that was open to the public for free today thanks to it being a public holiday.   Continue reading

Wed. Sept. 14 2016.  Day 1 in Korea.

Last night, we took a red eye flight (getting to the airport at 10 p.m.) departing at 12:40 a.m. to go to Incheon International Airport for 6 days of self-guided travel in Korea.  Woohoo!  It was the first time that I’ve been to Korea without a tour — I’ve visited previously two other times, both times through a tour agency :).   Continue reading

Touhenboku Cafe [Defunct]

Touhenboku Cafe millie crepe cake

Touhenboku Cafe located at 142 Main St., Unionville

What a surprise it was to see that there was a Touhenboku Cafe while strolling down Main Street Unionville yesterday!  I didn’t know that in addition to the ramen restaurants that Touhenboku had opened up (one on Queen Street West and one in Richmond Hill) that they had an individual cafe shop too!  I couldn’t resist walking in to check out what it was about. 🙂   Continue reading

OktoberFEAST 2016 was held last night at the Markham Museum near Markham Road and 16th Avenue in Markham.  It was an event where local food and drink vendors came together to raise funds to fight against cancer by supporting the Canadian Cancer Society.
