Laveanne Lavender Fields located at 8667 Gilmour Rd in Campbellcroft, Ontario
July 1, 2018: After having breakfast in Downtown Port Hope, we headed north back up near the Ganaraska Forest Centre to check out the Lavaenne lavender fields. I didn’t even know that there were lavender fields! It is always a pleasure to check out local and unknown spots and Laveanne is definitely a not-as-known spot yet for lavender fields. We actually had dined at the Social Bar and Table for lunch before on one of our first visits out to Port Hope to see the salmon migration. June 30, 2018: On a sunny and hot day projected to reach upwards of 33°C in Port Hope (40°C in Toronto), we reached this small town located east of Markham to arrive at the Ganaraska Forest Centre for the treetop trekking excursion at the Ganaraska location of the Treetop Trekking facility. Kome Shokudo Japanese Comfort Food located at 1383 16th Ave, Unit #2 in Richmond Hill
June 23, 2018: I’m still a sucker for trying new restaurants although I’ve significantly been eating out less these days (yay). When driving on 16th Avenue near Leslie, I noticed that a new restaurant had popped up. Kome Shukudo Japanese Comfort Food replaces the previous Zoup! salad and soup restaurant.
When we walked inside just before 5 p.m., it was definitely quiet since it was too early for dinner and too late for lunch time. Continue reading
Pho Quinn Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine located at 5284 Highway 7 E, Unit 1 in Markham
June 12, 2018: I went to this Vietnamese restaurant that I had never been to before and I was blown away with how delicious the food was! It was unassuming from the storefront and although it included the word “authentic” in its name, it never actually means the truth when it comes to businesses so my expectations were low from the beginning.
