September 19, 2017: Yesterday for lunch, I again consulted OpenRice for some good eats around the area. It showed me Golden Captain Restaurant (金船長餐廳) which specialized in Italian cuisine and had a specialty pizza which almost all the reviews were about. Thus, we went there to check it out.
Golden Captain Restaurant opened at 11 a.m. and we arrived around noon. There were lots of people dining in and taking advantage of their favourable lunch combo. Most of the diners were of the younger crowd.

After walking across the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge this past week in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, this was one of the views that greeted us. First meal in Changsha, China
September 13, 2017: I’ve never been to Changsha before and I was inspired to go after seeing photos online of the historic and mountainous regions. It is also the area that the movie Avatar was filmed in inspired from.
This tour was part of the “Beautiful China” tour subsidized by the Canadian government for only $99 per person for 6 days of sightseeing. Hotels stays and majority of the meals were covered, but tips for the tour guide and driver as well as certain admission fees were priced separately. Flight to and back were also our own payment too. Dorsett Mongkok Hong Kong located at 88 Tai Kok Tsui Rd, Tai Kok Tsui in Hong Kong
I really liked this hotel! We stayed at Dorsett Mongkok Hong Kong for a couple of days and checked out on September 13, 2017.
We knew of this hotel thanks to a family friend who recommended it to us based on its cleaniness, affordability, and convenience.
It’s very close and convenient for transit. There is a minibus, number 12A, that goes to the Mongkok East station just around the corner of the hotel (ride takes around 5 minutes). The A21 airport express bus is also available just 7 minutes’ walk from the hotel.

Garden Restaurant located at 469 Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei in Hong Kong
Sept. 11, 2017: For dinner at night, we went to Garden Restaurant (花園酒家) in Yau Ma Tei for hot pot! This hot pot was in a comfortable restaurant on the upper floors of the restaurant that also serves dim sum, a la carte dinners, and more. I remember eating dim sum here at the restaurant with my family as a kid.

Chrisly Cafe located in 107 Sai Yeung Choi St S, Mong Kok in Hong Kong
Sept 11, 2017: Today we went to a classic Hong Kong style cafe for breakfast and lunch called Chrisly Cafe (華星冰室) in Mong Kok (although it also shows up as “Capital Cafe” online..). Since we were staying at a nearby hotel, we actually got 2 free meal vouchers to Chrisly Cafe. Yay!

Mandarin Chicken Rice (Singapore) located at G/F., 17 Chung Wui Street, Tai Kok Tsui in Hong Kong
Sept 10, 2017: Amazing lunch today!! I used the OpenRice app to find a good lunch place near our hotel and this place popped up (I also noticed it when we took the minibus the first day here). I also wanted to eat rice in the morning so this was the perfect place to try.
