Sept 30, 2016 – Simply Life.
Thanks to my foodie friend Grace, I was alerted of this really quaint and nice European style bakery and cafe that offered lunch and dessert items. She recommend the cakes and pastries to me so when we had some time in the afternoon, my mom and I ventured to the Sha Tin branch of Simply Life to check it out.
Their Afternoon Tea menu began at 4 p.m. and we had to wait a few minutes in line for our turn since their restaurant was packed with guests already. Once we received a table, we order two sets of the Afternoon Tea combos which were either sandwiches or desserts with a drink.
Since my main intention was to try out their desserts, we ordered two desserts. I had already taken a look at the selection of desserts at the front reception area of the restaurant so I already knew what to get. I chose the Bamboo Charcoal Green Tea Cake and the Blueberry Cheesecake.
Belong, our cakes arrived to our table! Each cake was made so delicately that I definitely took many pictures from different angles to commemorate the moment.
The Bamboo Charcoal Green Tea Cake was so precisely assembled with layers of green tea cake, charcoal, and regular take. The bamboo charcoal part on the outer surface of the cake was crispy and added a unique texture to the cake. It was really good!
The Blueberry Cheesecake was also assembled with flair. There was a blob of cream on top of it that looked so cool sitting on top of the cheesecake.
As much as I wanted to try some of the other offerings and especially desserts on their menu, we still had a family dinner that night so I couldn’t justify ordering anything else. Their menu items all looked and sounded so good though. I know I will have to visit Simply Life again in the near future. 🙂
I love this place! They have amazing bread pudding btw.
Oh, wow. I will definitely have to try that out the next time I am there. 😀
