Lunch at the Sunshine Spot

Located at 796 Sheppard Ave E in North York

I couldn’t believe how amazing the Eggs Benedict was at this restaurant!

Sunshine Spot resides at a small plaza on Sheppard Avenue in North York between Leslie and Bayview next to a sushi restaurant.  It isn’t a place that you would think would have amazing food as it’s in the middle of nowhere it seems and doesn’t seem very prominent.   Continue reading

Rock Lobster

Lobster Mac 'n Cheese

Rock Lobster located at 110 Ossington Ave in Toronto

Rock Lobster has been on my to-go-to list for a while now so I was very happy when Christine and I were finally able to set a time to go there to try it out.  While walking from the Dundas streetcar to the restaurant which is located on Ossington, I noticed that Ossington also is the home for restaurants like Hawker Bar and many other open-patio restaurants.  Continue reading

A Little Meal and Catch-up at Wimpy’s Diner

Located at 2900 Steeles Avenue East in Thornhill

My friend Grace currently suffers from an autoimmune disease and has eczema which has plagued her life and normal day-to-day routine for the past several months.  She’s slowly getting better but is still only able to come out on really good days and for short periods of time.  (Get better soon, Grace!)  I was lucky enough to meet up with Grace and catch up over some greasy food at this diner-style restaurant in Thornhill.

The only server at Wimpy’s that day was very friendly and easy to talk to.   Continue reading

A night to remember

My beautiful, growing team (with key partners missing)

I wasn’t planning on blogging about this event as we have corings/team meetings every single week.  However, for this coring that we had last night, the energy that we had was through the roof.  First of all, I got to speak again in front of all these amazing people.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Relic

Window of the World, China.  August 2009

I don’t know why but the moment I saw this week’s photo challenge of relic, I immediately thought of this photo.  This is a replica of the Globose that exists in the public Anthropology Museum of Mexico that I saw at the Window of the World when I was travelling in China several years ago.   Continue reading

A Late Lunch at Symposium Café

Located at 8187 Yonge Street in Thornhill

After another really tiring court reporting session, I had a late lunch at Symposium Café with my mom on a Tuesday afternoon.  There are many locations of this casual cafe all around GTA with the most recent one opening in the Markham area.  I’ve seen several friends post about this restaurant so I was pretty curious to try it out for myself.   Continue reading

My first time to Las Vegas!

Beautiful Las Vegas. June 13-16, 2014

As most of you can tell from my recent posts, I went to Las Vegas last month!  It was half business and half pleasure and I got to see so much and learn from some inspiring people in the process.  I’d never been to Las Vegas before and wasn’t sure what to expect.   Continue reading

Las Vegas Eats 2014: Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen + Bar

Located at The Quad Resort & Casino
3535 S Las Vegas Blvd

It was our last night in Vegas!  I was going to miss it; all the good food, the energy, the sparse yet comfortable crowds, the dry heat, all the new things I got to see — we had to make the most of our last night!

Vivian and I were checking online at the Venetian (yay free wifi) to see which restaurants would be good enough for our last meal in Vegas before we jetted back home.   Continue reading

Las Vegas Eats 2014: Jean-Philippe Pâtisserie

Located at the Bellagio
3600 Las Vegas Boulevard S

Calvin, Danny, Eric, and I were exploring the Bellagio Hotel on the first night of Vegas after our Cirque du Soleil Zarkana show and happened to pass by Jean-Philippe Pâtisserie.  It’s an European-style pastry shop that stands out since there’s a beautiful display of a choo-choo train near the ceiling with these glass-like glaciers coming out of it.  To the right of the shop, there is a world record: the world’s largest chocolate fountainContinue reading

Las Vegas Eats 2014: Hash House A Go Go

Located at The Quad
3535 Las Vegas Boulevard S

This place is ridiculous, and I mean ridiculous in a good way.

On the last day of Vegas, our flight was late at night (booked specifically for that reason) so we got to explore more of Vegas before we flew home.  We had a bit of a lazy morning where we finished packing and checked out of our temporary home at the Paris Las Vegas hotel (it was great!).  We walked over to the Quad where we had brunch at Hash House A Go Go.   Continue reading
