After a fun and successful photo shoot in Main Street Unionville, we went to Booster’s on Main to quench our thirst and for some bites. At this time, the sun was beginning to set but the weather outside was still good enough to squeeze in some patio time. Thus, Ken and I asked to be seated outside on the patio. Luckily, we were able to nab the last one.
On Monday, April 24, 2017, Yelp hosted an invite-only dinner party at Good Catch Boil House for Elite members. Up until this point, I had already been to Good Catch Boil House three times — the first time was to their media event, second visit was with Ken, and third visit was with my mom (second and third visits blogged here). Thus, I was well acquainted and familiar with what Good Catch Boil House was all about and I really enjoyed their food! Continue reading
There is another new seafood boil restaurant in town! Boil King is now open and located in the Entertainment District on 333 King Street West close to Blue Jays Way.
Boil King is a family-owned restaurant that serves the Louisiana tradition of Cajun-style seafood in the heart of downtown Toronto. With a kitchen led by a chef with over thirty years of international culinary experience, the restaurant invited me to a casual family-style tasting event with other Instagram food enthusiasts of Toronto last night! What a pleasure it was to be able to dine in Banff, the world’s most beautiful rocky mountains and the village that is so picturesque!! 😀 Unfortunately, by the time we drove in from Lake Louise (which was actually an hour away), the sun had set and it was really cold outside! All that was on our minds was dinner before we started another 5-hour drive home to Edmonton (thank you to our friends who drove!). Continue reading
Everyone knows about Cafe Hollywood, right? 😀 The first and original location of City Cafe Hollywood is located right on the outskirts of Market Village and has been there for over a decade. I remember first going there for afternoon tea with my mom many years ago when I was a kid and now it’s made popular by us GenYTO kids who go there every Thursday evening and anytime during the week too for cheap eats and delicious food. After three hours or so of playing badminton at Flying Dragon on Thanksgiving Monday (the time just FLEW by — get it? ;P), a few of us went to St. Louis Bar & Grill for lunch. We were originally planning to go next door to Magic Noodle, but they were packed, so we ditched the line-up. Continue reading
Wow, I was so impressed with the food that I had here at Moxie’s! We all know that a few years ago, chain restaurants like Moxie’s didn’t serve the best tasting or coolest choices of food, or at least for me, their reputation wasn’t very high on the foodie list. However, Moxie’s has upped their game in terms of the food quality in the last couple of years and I have to say I was so happy and satisfied with what I had here. Continue reading
After having received the free $50 gift card from Elephant & Castle (they enlisted my help to run a contest to give away a gift card and I got the same gift in return. Yay!), Jen and I went there to dine and try it out.
I’ve walked past this location of Elephant & Castle on King Street many times before. Continue reading
It was our last night in Vegas! I was going to miss it; all the good food, the energy, the sparse yet comfortable crowds, the dry heat, all the new things I got to see — we had to make the most of our last night!
Vivian and I were checking online at the Venetian (yay free wifi) to see which restaurants would be good enough for our last meal in Vegas before we jetted back home. Continue reading
This was my first time attending Toronto’s Wing Festival. Apparently this was the third year that they hosted it. I’m sure a lot of people don’t even know about this festival, so hopefully this blog post will bring more awareness to this foodie event and also have you drooling over my chicken wing pictures. Hahaha, I’m joking about the last part, but I really did eat a lot of wings this past weekend. =] Continue reading
