Weekly Photo Challenge: Today Was a Good Day

August 15, 2015 was a good day! 🙂

I’m not a fan of these challenges because they take more effort and time, something that I don’t have a lot of these days (by “this”, I don’t mean the Weekly Photo Challenge itself, I mean how they want us to choose a variety of pictures to feature for this week’s theme).   Continue reading

Las Vegas Eats 2015: Breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi

Located at 3655 S Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas

Right before we headed for our very first day of the Las Vegas 2015 Bootcamp, three of us headed towards Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast. We wanted to be there extra early so that we could have time to savour the food before we had to line up at the convention hall.  Funnily enough, even though we wanted to have an early breakfast, they actually didn’t open until 7 a.m.  We waited a few minutes in front of their doors before they prompted opened at 7.   Continue reading

August Shoreline Cleanup at Cherry Park

Cleaning up the shoreline at Cherry Park, Ontario

This is not the first time I’ve done a shoreline cleanup event, nor is it the first one that I’ve done with the Toronto Trillium Lions.  In fact, the first time that I participated in a Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup was back in October in 2013 when I was invited with the group to tidy up the shoreline of Bluffer’s Park.   Continue reading

Summer Salad Ramen at Santouka!

Located at 91 Dundas St E in Toronto

After we had our fill of desserts and festival food at the first ever Sweetery Toronto Food Festival, the five of us headed over to Santouka for dinner since Wayne had never had ramen in Toronto before (…).  I really wanted to try their Cold Ramen after seeing friends post occasional pictures of it on social media.   Continue reading

Gigantic and Delicious Rolls at VIPS Sushi

Located at 9 Byng Ave. in North York

Wow, I was so impressed with the sushi rolls at VIPS Sushi!  When I first decided on this place to have a nice dinner and catch-up with Wendy and Helen at, I oversaw some online reviews that mentioned fairly good ratings.  It was a good spot for us to meet up at near the Finch Station (Yonge & Finch area).   Continue reading

Steak ‘n Shake (Erie, Pennsylvania)

Located at 7791 Peach St. in Pennsylvania

During one of our last pit stops before we crossed the border back in to Canada, we had dinner.  Last year, we stopped around this location for dinner too but I remember some of us had Burger King or food from Walmart.  I know some people came to Steak ‘n Shake but not everyone did.  So when I realized this was same pit stop, I definitely wanted to try this burger joint out. 😀   Continue reading

Dinner at The Pavilion

Located at 2010 West Vandalia Road in Greensboro

So for dinner on our last night in Greensboro for the MAIC 2015 Convention, we dined out as a team at a restaurant called The Pavilion.  Thank you Jason for helping us book the reservation for our 40+ group and securing the spot even though we were a little late for our reservation (oops).

The Pavilion is a very unassuming restaurant.  As we rolled up to the parking lot, I’m sure many of us were doubting the validity of the restaurant from its exterior.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Creepy

Panda Hotel, Hong Kong. January 2012

This is one of the photos I came across in my arsenal that shows a relatively creepy scene.  Pandas by themselves can be really cute, especially in a cartoon form, but when they are elongated and made into a human-form, then it just looks plain weird.   Continue reading
