Art Toronto: Toronto International Art Fair 2013

After we had a messy but fulfilling lunch at Uno Mustachio at St. Lawrence Market, my friend Mandy and I attended the Art Toronto Fair. This was my first time attending it and Mandy’s second after having attended it in her high school years. The modern and contemporary fine art fair first started in 2000 and since then has been hosted annually. Many artists from Canada and around the world showcase their artwork for potential buyers and collectors. We weren’t planning on buying any art; it was a good chance to experience some good natured art pieces on a Friday afternoon.

Uno Mustachio — Messy but Delicious Italian Sandwiches!

Italian sandwiches from Uno Mustachio at St. Lawrance Market

Today, before venturing off to the Art Toronto Fair, my friend and I scoped out St. Lawrence Market.  It’s a beautiful indoor market on Front Street that many go to for the fresh food stalls and unique local shops and eateries.

We decided to eat from Uno Mustachio located in the lower level of the market since it had one of the longest line-ups during the busy lunch hour.   Continue reading →

Authentic Malaysian Dishes at Restoran Malaysia

Restoran Malaysia storefront

Restoran Malaysia located at 815 Major Mackenzie Drive East in Richmond Hill

Wow!  I was so impressed with Restoran Malaysia!  I had been eyeing this restaurant for a while now seeing that it was the restaurant in second place on Urbanspoon in the Richmond Hill neighbourhood.  It just so happened that I was looking at the daily e-mail that Groupon sends me, and the top deal of the day was for Restoran Malaysia.   Continue reading →

Flirty Girl Fitness’s 8th Year Anniversary

Yesterday, Oct 23, we had the chance to join Flirty Girl Fitness‘s 8th year anniversary party! To celebrate, they invited anyone, whether drop-in or member, to a free class of their choice. They also provided giveaways, munchies, and cocktails as part of their Customer Appreciation Event. Golden Horse Restaurant, a Hong Kong Style Cafe

I’m not sure why there are so many Chinese restaurants that like to start off their restaurant name with “golden”, but it’s kind of amusing when you think that they probably want their business associated with the word “gold”.  Also, it’s interesting that the name of this restaurant in Chinese translates to “Restaurant of Macau”.  Anyway, Golden Horse Restaurant is a casual cha chan tang restaurant that serves breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch, or dinner sets.  Everything that you order is usually accompanied by a tea or coffee, and if it’s a lunch or dinner combo, you also get a soup of the day.   Continue reading →

Job shadowing! October 21, 2013

“Survived 3 passenger assistance alarms on the TTC just now.. Good thing I got out of the house with lots of time to spare and am still somewhat early. *shakes fist at the passengers who caused the delay* #mypoorbladder”

Those were my thoughts at 9:30 am this morning when I was on my way to job shadow a court reporter today. Continue reading →
