Go Girl Bootcamps

I’ve been doing a lot more exercise lately, both to improve my own health and also because I’m finding out more and more fun ways to work out.  I’ve still been going to my Zumba classes weekly (sometimes 2-3 times a week) just because it’s so darn fun.  I know almost all the dance moves in the songs now compared to when I first started and was flailing around all over the place.  Dancing to the beat of high energy songs is just way too much fun.   Continue reading

Japanese-style Pasta at Shiso Tree Cafe

Close-up of the Okonomiyaki Fries

I’ve heard a lot about this place and have frequently seen my friends post up food pictures from Shiso Tree Cafe so I thought it was high time that I went to check it out as well.  It is a small cafe located in Japantown in Markham.   Continue reading

Yummy Yummy at Fin Izakaya [Defunct]

Pork Katsu at Fin Izakaya

Today, for the first time ever, I ate at a restaurant all by myself!  Up until this point, I’ve always dined with at least one other person out in public and the thought of eating alone always made me a little uncomfortable.  Today, circumstances allowed me to eat alone, and I actually really enjoyed it!  I was so pleased with the me-time that I even splurged a bit while I was eating at Fin Izakaya.  Haha, let me tell you what I ordered for one. 🙂   Continue reading

DiSCOVER. Trip to China. Day 10. July 25, 2013.

Hello there..

I ate a scorpion today!!!!

Today we didn’t do too much; it was the only day where we had only one event in the itinerary. After a so-so breakfast (they had hot milk and sausages on a rolling grill), we went to the Lord Mengchang Mausoleum where it was so hot that even when we were standing there listening to the people talk, we were sweating. DiSCOVER. Trip to China. Day 9. July 24, 2013.

Daming Lake

Today we went to Daming Lake and Confucius’s mansion, temple, and cemetery. Daming Lake was nice and lunch was really good too since the presentation of the food looked really nice and there was a live performance too. The rest of the day was filled with incredible heat and humidity. I sweated through my 5-short…   Continue reading

My Favourite Chinese Dishes at Dong Kee Chinese Restaurant

Dong Kee Chinese Restaurant in Scarborough.
Menu, restaurant signage, soup of the day that comes with every dinner order (usually pig intestine soup).

Dong Kee located in Scarborough is one of my favourite go-to Chinese restaurants to dine at.  The food is good, the prices are cheap, and the portions aren’t big so that you can order more different dishes to share.  It’s a straight-forward and typical Chinese restaurant so don’t expect fancy china or exceptional service.   Continue reading

Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu — Korean Restaurant

Combination Soon Tofu (with shrimp, mussel, and beef) & Hot Stone Pot Rice. $7.53.
Located at 5445 Yonge Street in Toronto

This is one of the busiest Korean restaurants in the Yonge-Finch area in Toronto.  It’s essentially in Koreatown since most of the eateries and entertainment are Korean-owned.   A group of us from the Mon Sheong group met up tonight to have dinner at Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu.   Continue reading

Delicious Food at Bar Hop!

Bar Hop on 391 King Street West

After another strenuous and sweaty Flirty Girl Fitness workout, Holly, Steph, and I headed to Bar Hop for some delicious sustenance.  I hadn’t eaten very much all day long, so I was in the mood for lots of good food!  We had eyed this bar for a while now, especially after having seen it with such great reviews on Urbanspoon.   Continue reading
