The Ice Dragon Boat race held at Dow’s Lake at 1001 Queen Elizabeth Dr in Ottawa
February 10, 2018: This was my very first time watching an ice dragon boat race! I first heard of the idea when I saw a Facebook video of this winter sport floating around. It was really neat and I didn’t know at the time that I would be watching it live so soon! Continue reading
RAW Pulp + Grind located at 440 Preston St in Ottawa
February 10, 2018: In between waiting for the next ice dragon boat race, we found RAW Pulp + Grind on Preston Street in Little Italy and stopped in for some raw organic juice and wifi usage.
I wouldn’t have known from the exterior that this juice bar and health bowl spot was so spacious inside! They even have a backyard which I’m assuming gets converted into a patio in the warmer weather. Continue reading

I’m on a tour bus right now, so the only remotely sweet item photo I have at easy access now is this dessert that I had recently. 😀 Continue reading
233 Ethel Street in Ottawa
This was my very first time staying in an Airbnb! Ken found this Airbnb online and booked it for the weekend we were in Ottawa for the ice dragon boat festival.
Up until now I’ve mostly stayed in hotels when travelling. The unit included not just a bedroom but it was actually a full apartment unit! Check-in was at 4 p.m. but the owner was still cleaning up the house with last minute efforts when Continue reading
Allium Restaurant located at 87 Holland Ave in Ottawa
For an early Valentine’s celebration this year, my boo booked a restaurant ahead of time for us in Ottawa. I didn’t know where or what cuisine it was, so it was a complete surprise. ^_^ Yay! Continue reading
Meadows Diner located at 455 Preston St in Ottawa
February 9, 2018: After arriving in Ottawa and before heading to the ice dragon boat practice run, we stopped by Meadows Diner on Preston Street in Ottawa’s Little Italy for some quick food. It was cold outside and I was craving for something heavy and carby so I got their poutine while Ken got the Reuben Sandwich with salad. Continue reading
Toronto, Ontario. May 2017
I live for the Greater Toronto Area, but am so glad that I’m within Toronto so that I can visit often for their parks within the city, food adventures every other block, and a multitude of other events and activities that occur weekly — whether it be parades in the summer or light festivals in the winter. Continue reading
Had so much fun today at The Wave Pool in Richmond Hill (5 Hopkins Street at Yonge and Major Mac)!

The Queen and Beaver Public House located at 35 Elm St in Toronto
February 1, 2018: Betty and I had lunch at The Queen and Beaver Public House. We came here for their winterlicious lunch menu. I had picked a number of contenders for our lunch but since this one was closest to her workplace and Betty hadn’t had British food before, this one won the lot.
I called the restaurant to make a reservation for a 1 p.m. lunch the day Continue reading
The Yelpie Awards hosted at the Richmond Hill Centre For the Performing Arts located at 10268 Yonge St in Richmond Hill
January 28, 2018. Although I initially wasn’t fully interested in attending the Yelpie Awards, I was glad that I accepted the invitation and decided to go.
This year’s Yelpie Awards were held at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts (at Yonge and north of Major Mac) at 7 p.m. It was a really straight-to-the point “ceremony” Continue reading
