Kobi Korean BBQ Restaurant located at 100 Steeles Avenue in Toronto

We knew that we wanted to try the infamous Korean spicy chicken cooked over a grill with a melted cheese ring around it so we decided on a wintry Friday night to go to Kobi Korean BBQ Restaurant to check out how they made it here in Toronto. We had had dinner here the other night in Hong Kong and returned here for dim sum in the morning. We ordered so much dim sum!

Dinner at Johnny Bistro [Defunct]

For our annual holiday get-together, we chose Johnny Bistro in Markham for dinner. Johnny Bistro is located in the east side of Markham close to Main Street Markham on the next street over on 5 Washington Street.

NYE 2016 at SOCO Kitchen + Bar

The sweetie was smart enough to make reservations for a second restaurant for us to lounge at and eat and drink until midnight for the New Year’s Eve countdown. The reservation was booked for 10 p.m. at SOCO Kitchen + Bar and we arrived there to wave good-bye to the last of 2016 and say hello to 2017. Ken and I celebrated New Year’s Eve with dinner at Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill at their Yonge & Front Street location. Our reservations were booked at 7:30 p.m. and there were a lot of people dining already when we arrived. It was a really nice dimly lit restaurant perfect for dates or large casual gatherings. Kyouka Ramen (Markham) [Defunct]

I was really surprised that the former burger shop, Big Jack’s Burger Shop, had closed down and now was taken over by Kyouka Ramen (I really liked that burger joint). Kyouka Ramen, a Japanese ramen house, is located on Woodbine Avenue south of Highway 7. We were here on a Friday afternoon and they opened right at noon.
