Lamb Tongue Sandwiches at Chef Burger!

Half of the Lamb Tongue Sandwich!
Located at 8910 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill

When walking into Chef Burger, I did not expect that I would be having a lamb tongue sandwich for lunch!  This restaurant is part of a plaza on Yonge Street near 16th Avenue and could be considered a hole in the wall as it’s not prominently featured or known about.  Despite its obvious intention as a shop selling burgers, the restaurant actually incorporates a Middle Eastern flair into their sandwiches and subs.   Continue reading

Speaking in front of some fantastic people :)

@Radisson Hotel in Toronto

Tonight, I had the privilege and pleasure to speak to a group of amazing people.  I haven’t public spoken in a while..the last time I remember speaking to this many people was back in high school when I was part of the Kids Help Phone high school chapter and answering questions as part of an information session about the charitable organization.   Continue reading

The Best Chicken Shawarma at Rifca’s Mediterranean Kitchen!

Located at 8950 Yonge St in Richmond Hill

I was thoroughly, thoroughly impressed and definitely satisfied with the food that I had at Rifca’s Mediterranean Kitchen!  This small mom and pop restaurant is located in Richmond Hill on Yonge near 16th Avenue.  I’ve been meaning to try this place out since it is very close to where I reside.
I finally got the chance to pop in here the other day when I was feeling very famished and wanted something quick and filling.   Continue reading

They have live bands playing and featured specials every day!

Ohh, get ready for a really heated review on this next restaurant:  The last restaurant that I visited for the Winterlicious 2014 season was Joe Mama’s Bar & Grill.  My friend Daphne selected this restaurant and because we both enjoy Soul and Southern food, I was quite excited to try this place out!   Continue reading

Winterlicious 2014 Restaurant #3: Tabülè

Located at 2009 Yonge St in Toronto

I went to Tabülè for lunch as part of the Winterlicious celebrations in Toronto this afternoon.  I’ve always wanted to dine at this restaurant since it’s quite popular and because I also wanted to have some Middle Eastern food.  Participating in Winterlicious and Summerlicious for several years now, I’ve tried quite a number of predominantly Western restaurants (French, Canadian, etc.) that I really wanted to branch out and try more of the more “foreign” cuisines.   Continue reading

宝趣玫瑰园

Potrues Rose Garden, Guang Zhou Shi, China
June 2008

Treasure:  This week’s photo challenge asks us to take a picture of something that is a treasure to our hearts.  I don’t necessarily have anything tangible that I would call a treasure — most things in life that are valuable and worthy to keep are priceless and intangible anyway!  A treasure for me is my health.   Continue reading
