Azumi

Located at 5516 Lawrence Avenue East in Toronto

My friend Juliana was able to connect me to her friend Marina (who we’ve actually met before 3 years ago) who connected us with her friend Pearl who is connected with the restaurant called Azumi in Port Union (see how associations lead one to another?) 🙂 .  It is a Japanese restaurant that serves sushi, bento box, and typical Japanese fare.   Continue reading

Lunch at Ten Ren’s Tea!

Ten Ren's Tea menu cover

Ten Ren’s Tea Located at 111 Times Ave #101 in Markham

My friend TK and I hit up Ten Ren’s Tea for some lunch on a weekday Tuesday.  Ten Ren’s is a tea house and restaurant.  They also are part-store where half of the space is dedicated to selling their own brand of specialty teas and accessories.

They have several locations and we ventured to the one on Hwy 7 and Valleymede in Richmond Hill.  There were quite a fair number of people there on a weekday.   Continue reading

Mayan Ruins in Costa Maya, Mexico ~ West Caribbean Cruise 2015

Mayan Ruins, Mexico

We went on a second excursion today in Costa Maya, Mexico!  It’s so nice to wake up in another city that I’ve never been to before.

We didn’t plan for this excursion to happen.  When we docked onto the port, a group of us wandered to the aptly named Last Minute Tours area to find a good deal to see the well-known Mayan Ruins.   Continue reading

Lunch at Gal’s Sushi

Located at 3621 Hwy 7 in Markham

Gal’s Sushi is a long-frequented sushi place that most Markham friends know about and have been to before.  It’s a surprise that I haven’t been here in a while to write up a blog post, so here it is!  Jessica and I had lunch here on a weekday and I was happy to enjoy their sushi rolls again.  One of the things I like about Gal’s is that their sushi rolls are consistently good and tasty.   Continue reading

Lunch at Chef Wong’s

Located at 3235 Highway 7 East in Markham

On a Tuesday afternoon, my mom and I went for lunch at Chef Wong’s at First Markham Place.  This restaurant used to be another location of Congee Wong but for some reason has been renovated and changed to another congee/noodle/rice restaurant called Chef Wong instead.  Mind you, the Chinese name is still the same as “Congee Wong”.  What gives?   Continue reading

The dancing on tables that happened every night to a new song

After a hike through the underground cave and river in the Secret River excursion, dinner was served at the Gold Pearl.  Yay!

Tonight, I chose even more food than yesterday.  I had four appetizers, one main, and one dessert.  Uh oh, the days are getting shorter and I’m eating more and more.   Continue reading
