Weekly Photo Challenge: Fun!

Arc de Triomphe jump shot

Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France. April 2016

On our last full day in Paris, we visited the Arc de Triomphe.  A visit to this famous monument wouldn’t be complete without a jumping photo.  What made it even more fun was that we all did it together and the tour guide joined in too!  Looking at each screen of this photo that led to the pinnacle of this jumping photo made me smile because this was so fun.   Continue reading

It was the last full day in France for us!  We had lunch in a Chinese canteen-style (fast casual) restaurant called Traiteur Saveur d’Asie where you could pick which dishes you wanted and they were priced per 100 grams or per piece.  We chose several dishes plus noodles and rice to share together.   Continue reading

Toronto Trillium Lions Club: 6th Annual Shoreline Cleanup at Cherry Beach

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup at Cherry Beach in Toronto

August 2016 cleanup at Cherry Beach located at 1 Cherry Street in Toronto

It’s that time of the year again!  Another chance to clean up the Canadian shoreline! 🙂  Cleanups should be done regularly throughout the year so that there is less litter buildup and so that we can ensure that the wildlife doesn’t ingest any when mistaking it for garbage as well as preventing as much of it as we can from entering our waterways… but I digress. 😛   Continue reading

The Fat Beet in Thornhill [Defunct]

The Fat Beet located at 7330 Yonge Street in Thornhill

Thanks again to social media, I was educated of a new restaurant that has high reviews and been recommended to try.  The Fat Beet can be considered a vegetarian restaurant based on the number of vegetarian dishes they have on their menu (and also, its name highly suggests a vegetable-serving restaurant).  However, they actually do have some meat and fish dishes on their menu which negates my initial understanding that they were purely a vegetarian restaurant.   Continue reading

The Boiling Harbour opens today (August 6, 2016)!   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Morning

cows on the hill in Jeju Island

Hanwha Resort, Jeju Island, Korea. November, 2014

A memorable morning.  In November 2014, I went to Jeju Island in South Korea for vacation with my family.  When I woke up in the hotel resort, I looked across the balcony and saw cows on the hills in the distance!  This photo is zoomed in but I still remember what a pleasant morning that was to see these peaceful animals munching away in the morning light.  There was classical music playing outside too.  It was a wonderful morning while on vacation. 🙂   Continue reading

Raclette Suisse at Front Street Foods 2016 (Adelaide Place)

Raclette Suisse

Raclette Suisse at the Front Street Foods at Adelaide Place at 150 York St /181 University Ave

Raclette Suisse offers a unique cheese dish experience.  A full wheel of Swiss Raclette is heated up so that one of its sides is super gooey and melted.  Then, the chef uses a knife to scrape off the bubbly cheese onto a dish, usually with roasted potatoes.  The process is a beautiful one and one that I have admired since watching a viral video of it on social media.  I was adamant about trying it one day as I am a huge foodie and cheese lover, especially of gooey melted cheese! ❤   Continue reading
