Weekly Photo Challenge: Earth

 Red tulip among flowers

Keukenhof, Lisse. April 2016

With my recent trip to Keukenhof in the Netherlands, I was able to have another glance at just how beautiful our earth can be.  Keukenhof “Garden of Europe” is home to one of the biggest tulip fields in the world, giving Holland its famous landmark.

We were here in time for spring and also one of the best days with sunny skies and no rain.   Continue reading

Le Gaulois (Reims, France)

Le Gaulois located at 2 Place Drouet d’Erlon, 51100, Reims, France

We were in Reims, France for a short stay.  Reims is known as the land of champange!  So neat.

For lunch, we dined at Le Gaulois.  Looking at ther menu, it showed English translated notes beneath the French menu items and we knew that we wanted to try some foie gras and escargots while in France.   Continue reading

Amazing day touring Paris, France 😀

Day 2:  Paris, France.

Paris is so beautiful and I got to see it today! 😀

Morning call was at 6:30 a.m. and breakfast in the hotel was at 7 a.m.  It was quite early and I spent a chunk of my night trying to get my laptop to cooperate with me to upload my photos..   Continue reading

Osmow’s Authentic Mediterranean Restaurant

Hand holding a Beef Shawarma

Osmow’s Authentic Mediterranean Restaurant located at 8750 Bayview Rd, Unit 2 in Richmond Hill

For a quick lunch, I went to Osmow’s Authentic Mediterranean Restaurant in Richmond Hill.

I didn’t notice this restaurant before (right beside Starbucks and across from Loblaws) at Bayview and Hwy 7.  (Perhaps the restaurant can look into getting more traffic with better advertising and signage.)   Continue reading

The Junction Kitchen & Bar

The Junction Kitchen & Bar located at 3820 Victoria Park Ave in North York, Toronto

Betty and I bought a Groupon voucher to The Junction Kitchen & Bar way back in January of this year.  We had planned to go on a Saturday night.  Thus, I called in to make a reservation.  I called in earlier in the week but there was no one that picked up the phone.  I found it a little odd and then called again on the Saturday that we were going to the restaurant for dinner.  Again, no answer.   Continue reading

Le Mondial (Paris, France)

Le Mondial located at 12 Rue Auber, 75009 Paris in France

So since we weren’t shopping anyway and I was a bit finicky for authentic French food while in Paris, France, we walked around and stopped at Le Mondial (also shows up as the name “Tabac de l’Opéra” in search) for some French bites!

The front of the restaurant advertised that they had their menu available in English, Chinese, and various other languages Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Admiration

guard marching in front of Chamber of Deputies, Luxembourg

Chamber of Deputies, Luxembourg. April 2016

Any time that I’m travelling and get to watch a changing of the guards, the guards themselves as well as the process are all quite fascinating and worth pictures (and even videos).  On our trip to Luxembourg earlier this month, we were present at the Chambre des Députés (Chamber of Deputies), also known as “Krautmaart”, the unicameral national legislature of Luxembourg.   Continue reading

Ladurée (Galeries Lafayette, Paris)

While “shopping” at Galeries Lafayette (Le Printemps De La Maison) in Paris, France, I was on the lookout for sweet French pastries and macarons (because who am I kidding — I don’t shop for clothes at shopping malls; I merely shop for food!).

I wanted to try macarons from Ladurée as I knew they were the top macaron shop in France — highly praised and popular macarons — Continue reading
