A Milestone and a talk on #Hashtags

Council Chambers, North York Civic Centre. May 2015

A year ago, I would never have thought that I’d be speaking publicly in front of over 300 young entrepreneurs at the North York City Hall.  It’s so interesting to see where life takes you, and so far on this journey, I’ve been honing my communication and public speaking skills.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Forces of Nature

Mt. Cook, New Zealand.  April 2015

Without a doubt, this is a force of nature to me.  Just look at those huge looming mountains and large surfaces of land that has erupted out of the earth.  It’s truly incredible.  Man couldn’t make that even if he tried because there’s nothing as unique as nature and what it can create and destroy.  (Lame? :)).   Continue reading

Congee Queen (Agincourt Mall)

Located at 3850 Sheppard Ave E (Agincourt Mall) Unit 0425 in Scarborough

So funny that I found myself here again so soon.  There are so many Congee Queen‘s all across the GTA now and it doesn’t come as a surprise because of how delicious the Chinese food is and how affordable it is.  The menu also offers a variety of rice, noodle, soup, congee, and BBQ items.   Continue reading

Dinner at R&D

Located at 241 Spadina Ave in Toronto

I’ve been hearing a lot about this restaurant ever since it opened recently.  R&D is located in Chinatown in downtown Toronto and is opened by the winner of the first ever MasterChef Canada cooking game show TV series, Eric Chong, and multiple Michelin star restaurant owner, Alvin Leung, (nicknamed Rebel and Demon respectively; hence the restaurant name).   Continue reading

Hey Meatball

Located at 719 College Street in Toronto

By the name of this restaurant, Hey Meatball, you already know what they specialize in and that it’s clearly not a restaurant for you to go to if you are a vegan or vegetarian!  (However, what’s interesting is that they actually do serve vegan balls and they actually use sustainable local ingredients that are only from a 100-mile radius.  Pretty cool!)   Continue reading

Delucious – Korean side dishes delivery

Mark of Delucio (with an emphasis on the “luci”), a Korean side-dish delivery business based in Toronto, contacted me last week about providing me with some complimentary Korean side dishes to try and to share his mother’s story.   Continue reading

Tree Planting as part of Trees Across Toronto 2015

I helped plant 4 trees this year as part of Trees Across Toronto! 🙂

I helped plant trees for the first time in spring 2013 when it was part of the DiSCOVER 2013 program events.  I love participating in new experiences and planting a tree two years ago was definitely something new that I wanted to do.  This year, as part of the Trillium Lions event, I participated again!  Yay!

This is actually a yearly event that anyone can participate in as part of the Trees Across Toronto event as part of Toronto’s initiative to plant more trees around the Toronto area.  There were many sponsors and partnerships that made this tree event possible.  Most importantly, they needed a lot of volunteers to help do the work!   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Intricate

Rainbow Springs, New Zealand. April 2015

When we were in New Zealand last month, we visited Rainbow Springs, a haven in New Zealand where hundreds of native trees and wildlife live.  It’s also a place where they have raised and released more than 1,200 kiwi birds into the wild.  During our tour in the facility, we were greeted with many of these beautiful coastal Redwood trees.  These are different from the giant sequoia trees as they’re more slender and have these beautiful intricate leaves.   Continue reading

Magic Noodle (Richmond Hill location)

Located at 1383 16th Ave. Unit D in Richmond Hill

This restaurant screams “comfort food” to me.  There’s nothing better any time of the year than to sit down with a bowl of hot soup noodles with a side dish or two of seasoned meat or meat prepared in a pastry.  There’s something about this type of Northern Chinese cuisine that is just so delicious and that I like to enjoy every so often.   Continue reading
