Delicious Shanxi Food at Magic Noodle!

Located at 2190 McNicoll Ave in Scarborough

For a quick lunch, my mom and I visited Magic Noodle.  It’s a restaurant that I’ve heard several friends frequent lately so when we were in the area, I decided to check it out myself too.  When I got there, I understood why it was so popular — it was a 24 hour restaurant!  No wonder it’s a easily accessible restaurant at all hours of the day. 😀   Continue reading

Beef Noodle Restaurant

Located at 4271 Sheppard Ave E. in Toronto

After standup paddle boarding in the morning with Smiley Sarah and a comprehensive business training session in which I had a small part in (hehe), Mabel, Sarah, and I went for dinner at a beef noodle place that Mabel frequents.  Beef Noodle Restaurant doesn’t look like a great restaurant from the outside but you can say that it’s a gem.  It resides on Sheppard Ave E near Midland.   Continue reading

First Time Stand-Up Paddle Boarding!

Paddle boards

The other day, I posted a picture for the Weekly Photo Challenge about my experience doing stand-up paddle boarding but I haven’t blogged about it yet.  Now that I’m done my detox and back to my regular “schedule” of blogging again, the next post in my line-up (still very backlogged) is about the time when Sarah and I went stand-up paddle boarding on August 31.   Continue reading

Salmon Watching in Port Hope, Ontario

Salmon Watching in Port Hope, Ontario. September, 2014

I love new experiences and today was definitely a new experience.  A group of us went salmon watching in Port Hope in Ontario.  It’s about an hour drive east from Markham and I’m glad that we headed out the door early in the morning.  It was pouring rain when we left on our mini road trip and a few of us were concerned that there would be thunderstorms and we wouldn’t be able to safely get out to watch the salmon run.   Continue reading

Day 3, 4, 5 of September Detox

Detox-worthy?

Uh oh, what happened to my daily updates of my September detox?!?  Here it is! 😀  As I’ve mentioned before, this second time of doing a detox has been more lax and carefree than the first time when I did it in March.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Endurance

Stand-up Paddle Boarding, August 2014

Recently, I’ve had a taste of endurance when I went on a stand-up paddle boarding session at Sunnyside Park at Lake Ontario this summer.  If you don’t have endurance, it will be hard to go on that paddle board and paddle it all the way out and back to shore. 🙂   Continue reading

Eat Fresh Be Healthy

Located at 185 Dundas Street West in Toronto

I’ve been hearing of Eat Fresh Be Healthy for a while now.  My friend Vivian posted a picture of the food she ate from here on facebook and commented on how the food was affordable and really great!  So when Priscilla and I were thinking of a restaurant to go to recently, we arrived here on a humid summer day.

They have a prix fixe dinner here where they say “the only place you can have a prix fixe gourmet meal here any time of the year”.  Continue reading

Day 2 of September Detox at Zoup! [Defunct]

Located at 1383 16th Ave in Richmond Hill

This is my second time doing the Nutriclean detox and I’m going to have more fun this time around than the first time.  If you don’t know what a detox is, it’s a week where you eat clean in order to allow your body to cleanse out the gunk that’s in your system and to allow your liver and colon to rest up on digesting the usual heavy carbs and red meat.   Continue reading

September Detox — Day 1!

Day 1 of detox

Hi everybody!  I’m participating in a 7-day detox again with Nutriclean.  This means that for the next 7 days, I’ll be eating clean — no processed food, red meat, excessive sugar, oil, salt, alcohol, and carbs.  In the last detox that I did with friends (it was my first detox), I did the intense version where absolutely no meat was allowed.   Continue reading
