Womens Fitness Clubs of Canada — Richmond Hill location

Womens Fitness clubs of Canada (WFCC) just opened a new location in Richmond Hill and had an open house event for group exercise classes free of charge to anyone who wanted to try out a class at their new location.  I visited the 10341 Yonge Street location on a rainy Saturday morning to partake in a good, fun, high-energy Zumba class.   Continue reading

Measuring my Steno Progress through Songs

It’s no secret that I love practising to videos that I watch on YouTube; I’ve done it for as many as two years now. In particular, part of the reason why I think I was able to pass so many speed tests consecutively when I first started speedbuilding was because I kept practising to certain music videos over and over again. Continue reading

Shanghainese Food at A LA Kitchen in Markham

A LA Kitchen storefront

A LA Kitchen at 21 Fairburn Dr Unit #18 in Markham

About a week ago, I visited a restaurant that is located right behind First Markham Place in Markham.  A LA Kitchen looked like a rather recent opening of a new restaurant and I thought that it served Chinese cuisine.  I hopped in one afternoon and was surprised to see that they actually serve Shanghainese cuisine instead.  They host a big selection of Shanghainese dishes and some dim sum too.

Fish House — Popular For Their Fresh Fish and Seafood [Defunct]

The Fish House at 7501 Woodbine Avenue in Markham

I consider myself very lucky and am very grateful to get the opportunity to always dine out at such delicious establishments.  Today, my friend Betty and I visited The Fish House in Markham for lunch.  It’s situated on the corner of Woodbine and John Street, an intersection that both of us (and probably some of you reading now) are familiar with; having passed by on many occasions.   Continue reading

Dickens Restaurant in Scarborough

Inside of Dickens Restaurant in Scarborough. Some of the hanging lamps have little hearts in them. : )
Located at 8 Glen Watford Drive in Toronto

I happened to enter this small Chinese restaurant by chance.  I was looking for a close restaurant to have a late lunch at.  I actually had another restaurant in mind and was about to get into the car to drive across the street to go there.  However, on my way to the car, when I walked by this restaurant and happened to see that they had free wifi posted on their front entrance, I immediately dashed in — Continue reading

I found out through a fellow foodie friend that York Region offers three-course prix fixe meals in select restaurants for two weeks in fall!  To me, that screams “Fallicious”!   That’s my take on the popular Summerlicious and Winterlicious events that the city of Toronto has every summer and winter season. 😉   Continue reading

Grand Buffet at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort

The inside of Grand Buffet at the Niagara Fallsview Casino

Over the weekend, I visited Niagara Fallsview Casino with my mom and we had breakfast/lunch at the Grand Buffet which is located directly inside the casino.  I’ve been to this buffet a handful of times before and I always enjoy their food.  They have a great variety of cold dishes, salads, hot dishes, soups, a carving station, and their dessert station is ENORMOUS!   Continue reading

Art Toronto: Toronto International Art Fair 2013

After we had a messy but fulfilling lunch at Uno Mustachio at St. Lawrence Market, my friend Mandy and I attended the Art Toronto Fair. This was my first time attending it and Mandy’s second after having attended it in her high school years. The modern and contemporary fine art fair first started in 2000 and since then has been hosted annually. Many artists from Canada and around the world showcase their artwork for potential buyers and collectors. We weren’t planning on buying any art; it was a good chance to experience some good natured art pieces on a Friday afternoon.

Uno Mustachio — Messy but Delicious Italian Sandwiches!

Italian sandwiches from Uno Mustachio at St. Lawrance Market

Today, before venturing off to the Art Toronto Fair, my friend and I scoped out St. Lawrence Market.  It’s a beautiful indoor market on Front Street that many go to for the fresh food stalls and unique local shops and eateries.

We decided to eat from Uno Mustachio located in the lower level of the market since it had one of the longest line-ups during the busy lunch hour.   Continue reading
