Weekly Photo Challenge: Layers

Woodbine Beach, Ontario, Canada.  September 2012

Layers — literally all the layers we have on the planet:  the stratosphere, the clouds, flows of air and wind, the atmosphere around us, the space between us all, grains of sand on the beach, molecules in the water…

Blazing Fire Chicken with Cheese at Home of Hot Taste

Blazing Fire Chicken with Cheese at Home of Hot Taste

Home of Hot Taste located at 5 Glen Cameron Rd #3B in Thornhill

I said I would return to the Home of Hot Taste restaurant to try this appealing dish — “Blazing Fire Chicken with Cheese”.  In my previous review of this restaurant, I had eyed this chicken dish on the menu with drool coming out of the corners of my mouth… I really wanted to try this fiery chicken dish that had cheese in it!   Continue reading

Horseback Riding at Churchill Chimes

I’ve never been horseback riding before and have always wanted to try.  A friend in the Mon Sheong group suggested to go for an outing and we did!  After a satisfying breakfast at The Fickle Pickle, we walked into the property of Churchill Chimes for our one-hour introductory lesson.   Continue reading

Breakfast at The Fickle Pickle

The Fickle Pickle on 6302 Main Street in Stouffville

Before we headed for our first introductory lesson on horseback riding, the group of my friends and I had breakfast at The Fickle Pickle.  It’s a small family restaurant that is located on one of the many shops and eateries on Main Street in Stouffville.  I don’t quite remember, but this may have been my first time in Stouffville.  It’s far up north and east where there are not many people and resembles a small town.   Continue reading

Myungdong Noodle Shabu Shabu interior

Myungdong Noodle Shabu Shabu located at 8194 Bayview Avenue in Thornhill

This is a little Korean restaurant that I’ve been wanting to try after passing it by on Bayview Avenue in Thornhill many times.  I walked in on a Saturday during lunch hours and was surprised to see that it was a very popular and crowded place!   Continue reading

Forget About It Supper Club — Italian Restaurant

Forget About It Supper Club on 325 King Street West in Toronto

Forget About It Supper Club is a restaurant on King Street West that boasts authentic Italian food.  My friends and I came in here looking for a place to have dinner after our workout at Flirty Girl Fitness.  While this restaurant is probably not one that you would noticed while walking on King Street — as its sign is very small and doesn’t look very inviting — their big poster on the sidewalk did attract my attention immediately:   Continue reading

Second remote CART job :)

Yay, another one in the bag! ^_^ Today was also a 7-hour day like yesterday.  The content was a little different; today’s talked about a photography business and how to succeed in managing your own business.  The vocabulary was a tad simpler than yesterday’s but it was tad faster than yesterday’s broadcast.   Continue reading

Burritos, Enchiladas, and Fried Ice Cream at Mexican Amigos

Mexican Amigos at 10720 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill

The foodie in me just couldn’t resist participating in the very last day of the Savour York Region Restaurant Week festivities.  I visited Mexican Amigos for lunch and was very pleased with the selection of dishes offered for just $15 per person.   Continue reading

Bayview Kitchen is a Hong Kong Style Cafe in Richmond Hill

Bayview Kitchen is a small Chinese restaurant that serves breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch, and dinner sets.  It’s your typical Chinese fare with milk tea or coffee served with club sandwiches, macaroni with ham in noodles, instant noodles, and buttered toast for breakfast.  I say that it’s a small restaurant since they only have 7-10 tables depending on if they split up tables from 4 to 2 if there’s a need for more customers.  It’s a very popular place to eat a fast meal as lots of people came in and out during the short time Continue reading
