Spicy Chicken Wings at Home of Hot Taste

Home of Hot Taste — Korean restaurant specializing in spicy fried chicken

This was my second time visiting “Home of Hot Taste” in Thornhill.  I had trouble remembering what the name of this Korean chicken-based eatery was since almost everything in the restaurant is written in Korean.  I wanted to eat here again because they have some really delicious authentic Korean food!   Continue reading

Awesome Beer Choices at Town Crier Pub & Halfway Beer House

Looking into the second level space at the Town Crier Pub. Look at that selection of beers!

Last night, just before a friend and I sat in at the Princess of Wales Theatre to enjoy the spectacular new production of the Les Miserables, we had dinner at the Town Crier Pub & Halfway Beer House.  Online, I read reviews of their incredible collection of beers on tap from around the world.  I wanted to try it out and it was perfect since it was just a short less-than-5 minute walk to the Entertainment District in downtown Toronto.   Continue reading

Comfort Food at The Grotto Noodle House [Defunct]

 the Grotto

Inside the Grotto
Located at 398 Ferrier Street in Markham

I’ve been to the Grotto a number of times before (no, not THAT famous grotto 😉 ), but a noodle house in Markham that is actually designed to look like you’re eating in a grotto complete with walls made out of fake rocks and plants.  I visited this place tonight specifically because I wanted to eat their yummy and perfectly spicy satay pork sandwich.   Continue reading

Breakfast at Sunset Grill (Richmond Hill)

Sunset Grill menu cover

Sunset Grill located at 1500 Elgin Mills Road East in Richmond Hill

Sunset Grill is an all-day breakfast place and I’ve never tried it even though it’s fairly ubiquitous.  Arriving at the Richmond Hill location on a sunny and gorgeous fall day on Saturday after a heavy Zumba session, we only had to wait a few minutes before we were seated.   Continue reading

Hush Restaurant, Bar & Patio

The inside of Hush Restaurant looking into King Street West and right across from the TIFF Bell Lightbox at 303 King Street West in Toronto

Tonight, after a mighty hard workout session, Holly, Steph, and I dropped into Hush Restaurant to have a bite to eat.  Holly and I ended up splurging by ordering three courses of food, but it was such a lovely night to eat and chat together. 🙂 Foodie love!

The inside of Hush is exceptionally romantic and fancy.   Continue reading

DiSCOVER. Trip to China. Day 7. July 22, 2013.

My favourite day of the trip.

Today was fantastic! I didn’t think that it would top yesterday‘s fantastic events, but it did 🙂

Today, we went to the Terra Cotta Museum in Xi’an. Wow, it was so amazing. Our tour guide, Rose, was able to tell us a lot about the historical treasures. The first time I encountered terra cotta warriors (Italian for ‘baked clay’) was back in elementary school — actually, I don’t remember if it was elementary school or early high school. Either way, there happened to be some terra cotta warriors on show at Agincourt Mall. My parents and I went to see it. They were just on display in the halls of the mall. I remember we took pictures of it (back then, we were still using the cameras with film that had to be developed). Continue reading

Located at 180 Bullock Drive in Markham

First thoughts about Big Bone: Mmm!  This place has amazing Creamy Parmesan wings!  I loved it. 😀

My friend and I visited the Markham location of Big Bone BBQ & Wicked Wings on a lucky Monday since this is the only day of the week where there is an awesome deal of a full rack of ribs, 1 pound of wings, large fries (or salad) for just $25 including tax!

Ho Shin Tang — Korean Restaurant [Defunct]

The nice, clean environment of Ho Shin Tang located at 328 Highway 7 E in Richmond Hill

Wow!  I loved this place!  I walked in at noon with my mom on a rainy Saturday and we were the first ones inside.  The place is modern, sleek, decorated with minimal pictures of food on the wall, clean, and the staff is extremely pleasant and attentive.
