New reporting location today!

😀

One of the coolest things about being a stenographer is that every day is different and you might get to work out of new locations!  Today, I worked in this office which was all about land surveying.  All around the room, there were lots of artifacts and old maps as decor (historical compasses and telescopes).  I felt like I was in a mini museum lol.   Continue reading

“What time is it?”

“It’s Sweet O’clock!” XD

Kick'n Crispy Chicken

Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill located at 725 Markland St in Markham

I haven’t blogged properly in many days and weeks.  Where do I start?!  My backlog is growing so long… XD

Last night, my mom and I had dinner at our local Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill.  Although I haven’t stepped foot in a Swiss Chalet in years Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Friend

 geese family

Baby geese, Markham, May 2017

These “friends” of mine are seen year-round but only during mid-May to early June do you see the small ones emerge for the first time.  You can get really close to them without them squawking or flying away and they’re just quiet, calm, beings for the most part.  (Just don’t provoke them.)    Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Evanescent

 West Caribbean cruise

West Caribbean cruise. April 2014

This week’s photo challenge is “evanescent: a moment in time that holds meaning for you”.  This photo was taken by one of my travel companions when I went on my first cruise to the West Caribbeans in April of 2014.  This is not only a fleeting moment in time because the sunrise doesn’t last very long (sometimes when you’re not paying attention, it seems like it turns from darkness to day light in just second) but also because it was mechanically a fleeting moment in time for me.   Continue reading

Love Me Sweet (original location at World on Yonge)

Love Me Sweet cheesecakes

Love Me Sweet located at 7181 Yonge St., Suite 16 in Thornhill

Yesterday, as part of the dessert selection for the first barbecue of the season, we had dessert from Love Me Sweet.  Love Me Sweet is a growing Japanese-style cheesecake chain that began sometime in the last two years and has now (at the time of posting) three locations in total in Toronto!  (Their second location is at Scarborough Town Centre while the third one is at Yonge & Sheppard — I saw it recently when I was there for the Silo 13 #jojoinstameets.)   Continue reading

Readbacks

boardroom

Large boardroom

On Friday, I had an examination at the office.  For the first time, I was reporting in one of their biggest rooms that they had even though the number of scheduled number of people was slated to be 4 to 5.  Four people showed up in the end.  It was probably because it was the Friday before the long weekend and since there weren’t many jobs that day, they decided to put them in the big room Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Heritage

Terracotta Army

Terracotta Army, Xi’an, China. July 2013

A part of the Chinese heritage includes these thousands of terracotta warriors that were made in the Qin dynasty as part of funerary art for the first Emperor of China to protect him in his afterlife.

I can’t ever forget the experience of getting to visit this in Xi’an, China when I was there four years ago.   Continue reading
