b.good food

b.good located at 10 King St E in Toronto

Thanks to Grace of @moussetaco hosting a contest on instagram, I was able to win four free items to try out the menu at b.good.  Yay! 🙂

b.good is a relatively new franchise restaurant appearing in Toronto that features exclusively locally sourced ingredients.  It’s a fast casual restaurant meaning that you order your food at the counter, wait for them to call for your name, and then you can collect your items and dine in.   Continue reading

Love Me Sweet (original location at World on Yonge)

Love Me Sweet cheesecakes

Love Me Sweet located at 7181 Yonge St., Suite 16 in Thornhill

Yesterday, as part of the dessert selection for the first barbecue of the season, we had dessert from Love Me Sweet.  Love Me Sweet is a growing Japanese-style cheesecake chain that began sometime in the last two years and has now (at the time of posting) three locations in total in Toronto!  (Their second location is at Scarborough Town Centre while the third one is at Yonge & Sheppard — I saw it recently when I was there for the Silo 13 #jojoinstameets.)   Continue reading

boardroom

Large boardroom

On Friday, I had an examination at the office.  For the first time, I was reporting in one of their biggest rooms that they had even though the number of scheduled number of people was slated to be 4 to 5.  Four people showed up in the end.  It was probably because it was the Friday before the long weekend and since there weren’t many jobs that day, they decided to put them in the big room Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Heritage

Terracotta Army

Terracotta Army, Xi’an, China. July 2013

A part of the Chinese heritage includes these thousands of terracotta warriors that were made in the Qin dynasty as part of funerary art for the first Emperor of China to protect him in his afterlife.

I can’t ever forget the experience of getting to visit this in Xi’an, China when I was there four years ago.   Continue reading

Work over blogging? /CR Firsts

14th floor of the Financial Services Tribunal

View from the 14th floor of the Financial Services Tribunal

Lately, I’ve taken the approach of preferring to work on my transcripts rather than blogging whereas in the past it’s always been blog posts before anything else to the point of staying up late until midnight or beyond to publish a post once per day.  As some of you might have noticed — and as I know it myself — I’ve been lacking in the department of daily posts lately.  It’s not that I’m uninspired — I already have a growing list of new backlogged posts already waiting for me to write and publish.   Continue reading

As part of my very first #jojoinstameets from Jo and Joanna, it was hosted at Il Fornello where we had a fabulous tasting dinner and learned about their newest menu specials.  This is a recap blog post about my experience at the event.

I had previously been to Il Forenllo on two occasions Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflecting

Ripley's Aquarium of Canada

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Toronto. April 2017

For this week’s photo challenge of “reflecting”, I picked this photo from my visit to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada a couple of weeks ago.  You can see the fishies reflected in the bottom of the tank against the light and lots of fishies reflected in each other (as they look the same).  As we reflected on the fish swimming in this fish tank, we also reflected on what they were thinking and reflecting inside of their heads.   Continue reading

The Loose Moose

 The Loose Moose chocolate brownie

The Loose Moose located at 146 Front St W in Toronto

There aren’t too many places on Front Street near Union Station which open very late at night so after we finally stumbled out of the underwater sea world at Ripley’s and were looking for a bite to eat, we ended up at The Loose Moose at around 11:30 p.m. on a Saturday.  The Loose Moose is a pub that serves the typical pub food with lots and lots of beer on tap and drinks to go around.   Continue reading

The WORKS Gourmet Burger Bistro at St. Lawrence Market

The WORKS Gourmet Burger Bistro St. Lawrence Market

The WORKS Gourmet Burger Bistro located at 60 Wellington St E in Toronto

Before we ventured into the underwater sea world at Ripley’s, we went to The WORKS Gourmet Burger Bistro at St. Lawrence Market for some sustenance first.  I wasn’t particularly hungry so we decided to share a burger.  The WORKS Gourmet Burger Bistro is just one of several The WORKS burger joints in Ontario.  It was my first time here even though I have passed by this intersection of Front Street and Wellington numerous times.   Continue reading
