Dinner at Glorious Cuisine

Glorious Cuisine

Glorious Cuisine located at G/F, 31-33 Shek Kip Mei Street, Sham Shui Po in Hong Kong

September 24, 2017:

For dinner, we went to Glorious Cuisine (增煇大排檔 & 增煇藝廚) with our travel buddies.  I originally thought this was a legitimate dai pai dong restaurant since their Chinese name had the words “大排檔” in it.  Alas, I was disappointed when we arrived and I found out that it was actually more of a typical Chinese restaurant.  I believe they used to operate as a traditional dai pai dong but has since adapted with the modern times to become a sit-down Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Pedestrian

 Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

Gardens by the Bay, Singapore. March 2013

This was one of the coolest pedestrian bridges I’ve ever been on!  It is the Gardens by the Bay attraction in Singapore where you walk above the ground in these huge Supertrees that look so futuristic and cool!  Other than walking pedestrians, you don’t have to worry about cars or any other vehicle on this type of elevated walkway.

As for this week’s intended theme, this bridge is actually Continue reading

New reporting location

I’ve passed by this building many, many times but this was the first time I got to report in one of the firms on the upper floors!

It was really posh inside and the conference room itself even had an entire coffee and tea station, hot water, cute little squares of sliced lemon, juice, soda, Continue reading

September 23, 2017:  For dinner at night, I took advantage of an afternoon tea special that I happened to glance at and which struck itself in my memory banks.

We were passing by this restaurant, Chin Yip Ramen (千葉拉麵), when I spotted their propped up menu which loudly displayed their Afternoon Tea special.  It was just $38 HKD for a bowl of ramen plus a Continue reading

Lunch Combos at Shark Fin’s Restaurant

Chong Hing Square, 601 Nathan Road, Mong Kok in Hong Kong

September 23, 2017:  For lunch today, we went to Shark Fin’s Restaurant in Mongkok for a really good and cost efficient lunch!  My mom found this gem of a restaurant through OpenRice. 😀

It was literally called 魚翅大排檔 (“shark fin dai pai dong”) in Chinese, but when we got there, it wasn’t a traditional dai pai dong restaurant located outside at all.  Instead, it was a restaurant that had decor elements of a traditional Chinese restaurant and feel of a Continue reading

September 22, 2017:  After a really good dinner at a nearby dai pai dong, Willa brought us to 康瑞甜品, a popular dessert place for Taiwanese desserts.  康瑞甜品 started off as a small dessert stall but due to their popularity and delicious desserts, they grew into the present restaurant.

As we approached the restaurant, we could already see the line-up of Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Windows

Hong Kong International Airport departure windows

Hong Kong International Airport, September 2017

Every time I’m at the airport travelling, this photo of the windows almost always gets taken.  Here is the most recent one as I returned home from my trip to Asia in 2017. 🙂

For some pontificating:  This photo shows window panes among window panes and shows the window of opportunity to the world.  Since it is a photo of an Continue reading
