Eating at Market 707!

Located at 707 Dundas Street West in Toronto

Remember my recent post about visiting a cute little dessert shop located in a series of shipping containers called Market 707 in downtown Toronto?  Market 707 is a little community of shipping containers where local small-business owners have set up shop to sell their merchandise like food, clothing, little trinkets, or even services like manicures and cell phone services.   Continue reading

Prix Fixe Dinner for 2 at Brassaii Restaurant and Lounge

Located at 461 King Street West in Toronto

Thanks to Buytopia.ca and their Outreach Program, I got to try out Brassaii Restaurant and Lounge this past Friday evening.  Buytopia.ca reached out to me and provided me with a 10% off purchase for my readers with an exclusive promo code for a limited period of time.  It was a really neat exchange where I helped Buytopia showcase their merchants and where my readers got to take advantage of some great deals on the site.  It was a win-win situation!   Continue reading

Nitro Coffee & Chocolate Cronuts at Bakery & Kaffee Haus

Located at 238 Queen Street West in Toronto

I had the pleasure of visiting a really cute and little known cafe called Bakery & Kaffee Haus yesterday.  It is located on a popular street inside Queen Live Market on Queet St West by University (in front of the 299 Queen Street West/MuchMusic/Bell Media Queen Street) but I’ve never gone in until now.

Speaking to Eva, the one who graciously invited me, she told me that the cafe only opened a year ago and she herself had been working there for two months.  The cafe is Viennese themed, with a few seats for you to take to enjoy your treats while looking out onto Queen St West.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Inspiration

Richmond Hill, Ontario. July 2015

This week’s challenge theme is “inspiration“.  The theme asks us what inspires us and what keeps us going.  I don’t have children so I can’t say that that’s a really big inspiration that keeps me going (like most people).  I actually aren’t sure if I have one at all.   Continue reading

Lunch at Le Gourmand

Located at 152 Spadina Avenue in Toronto

Le Gourmand is a name that I’ve heard of often.  I got to come here yesterday for a brunch with a friend that I haven’t seen in a while!  I was there early before our agreed-to time so I took this chance to try their much-talked about chocolate chip cookies and drip coffee.   Continue reading

Delicious Southern & BBQ Tasting Menu at The Smokery Kitchen & Bar

Located at 6140 Main St in Whitchurch-Stouffville

What a pleasure it was to dine at The Smokery Kitchen & Bar in Stouffville for dinner this past Monday!  Chris, the owner of the restaurant invited me for a restaurant tasting since they are a relatively new business in the Stouffville area that specializes in house made everything.  They feature BBQ, smoked foods, corn bread, desserts, craft beer, and cocktails.   Continue reading

Taste of Peru Private Reception for the 2019 Pan Am Games “Hand Over” Ceremony

Taste of Peru Reception located at the Stirling Room at 16 Trinity St. in Toronto

This summer in Toronto, our city had the privilege of hosting over 41 countries in the 2015 Pan Am Games.  Despite not a lot of interest and attention on the games from the local Torontonians, there were a lot of great events hosted around the city that you could take part of if you really paid attention.  It’s ironic that I didn’t attend or pay attention to any of the Toronto Pan Am Games events, but that I was attending a “hand over” ceremony for the upcoming 2019 Pan Am Games which will be hosted in Lima, Peru.   Continue reading

Summerlicious 2015 Restaurant #3: John & Sons Oyster House

Located at 1 Balmoral Avenue in Toronto

Summerlicious 2015 has ended for this season!  Surprisingly, this season was the first one where I attended so few Summerlicious restaurants (my maximum had been 9 in one season).  The reason for few Summerlicious ’15 attendance is due to a lot more foodie complimentary invitations that filled up my schedule and a general apathy at visiting Summerlicious restaurants this summer (caused by the first reason).  Haha.  Anyway, let’s see how my third Summerlicious restaurant went, shall we? 🙂   Continue reading

New Menu & Cocktails at The Libertine!

Located at 1307 Dundas Street West in Toronto

I was so impressed with The Libertine!  The Libertine has been newly acquired by a new owner and I was invited there with a friend to try out their new menu of drinks and food.  The Libertine is no longer a “snack-lounge” on Dundas Street West by Dufferin but it is a restaurant turned bar that should prove very popular for after work hours, group get-togethers, hang-outs, and more.   Continue reading

Ramen Raijin with Zulu & Banh

Located at 3 Gerrard Street East in Toronto

The ramen-hoping duo, Zulu & Banh, invited me to one of their famed ramen tours.  They have been to over 20 ramen houses around Toronto and the GTA, looking for the best Japanese ramen noodles, toppings, and soup base.  I was really excited to try out Ramen Raijin with them and our friends since it was my first time to this ramen house and I wanted to join them on their 21st ramen meal. 🙂   Continue reading
