Gold Mark Chinese Cuisine is a Chinese restaurant that is newly opened. I noticed it when driving on streets of John Street and Woodbine since The Fish House previously occupied this place. I was so disappointed to find that that Western seafood restaurant had closed down. Continue reading

On our weekend trip to Blue Mountain in Collingwood, after climbing through caves and mountain sides, we had lunch at Swiss Chalet. Swiss Chalet is a popular and rather ubiquitous family chain restaurant in Ontario that serves rotisserie chicken with their specialty Chalet Sauce. Continue reading
Located at 10755 Leslie St. in Richmond Hill
My mom and I were in this area of the neighborhood up at Elgin Mills and Leslie and decided to try out this small Chinese HK-style cafe that I’ve noticed residing in the same plaza as the Sunset Grill.
It was a modern and casual style diner (which had free wifi! — Score!). They had many selections of food that came with a spring roll or soup and a drink. As always, HK style cafes offer a ton of choices that are characteristically delicious and affordable. Continue reading

As part of my early birthday celebration, my friends and I went to try out Peruvian cuisine; in particular, Peruvian rotisserie chicken. Alejandro recommended this place as we had all never been there before.
Los Chicos Brasa Peruvian Rotisserie is located in Markham near Markham Road and 14th. It is two storeys where it features mostly take-out on the lower level and a separate dine-in room on the upper level. Continue reading
Shoreline Cleanup at Bluffer’s Park — October 2014
One of the things I absolutely LOVE doing is cleanups. There’s just something almost ‘thrilling’ in the challenge of the ‘treasure’-hunting process — treat every piece of trash that you can spot out in the natural environment of greenery as a game and the goal is to see how much treasure trash you can collect. In the spot where Xin Jian Restaurant is, there used to be a small and quaint Taiwanese restaurant. Xin Jian Restaurant has now taken over that spot and serves Chinese food of the Shanxi lamb and kebob variety, much similar to what Magic Noodle serves. I tried out this restaurant with my mom.
