Mmmm Shanghainese food is comfort food to me! 🙂 The last time I was in this plaza by Yonge Street and Glen Cameron Road in Thornhill, I noticed that there was a Shanghai restaurant among the primarily Korean restaurant dominated plaza. It’s the same plaza that the Home of Hot Taste and Piggy’s Restaurant is in. This restaurant used to be called Shanghai Xue Yuan but is now rebranded as Tian Xin Place. Continue reading

I haven’t written anything on the topic of steno lately! Here goes. Tonight was Court Reporter Appreciation Night at my court reporting agency. It was all about networking, seeing all my court reporter friends and colleagues again, snacking on some hors d’oeuvres, learning about some new technology that can help us deliver better reporting services, and learning how to brand ourselves as better reporters. Essentially, I started my retox last night when a bunch of my friends and I went to City Hollywood Cafe for some wings and fries! Today is the first day of the month in the lunar calendar so my mom and I went out for some vegetarian food. Isn’t it funny that I just finished a week of detox eating all veggie food and I voluntarily chose to eat at a vegetarian restaurant today? You would think that I would want to immediately run out and eat lots of grains and meat products instead. Continue reading

I have so much respect for vegetarians and vegans everywhere around the world after going through nearly a week of detox and eating just fruits and veggies. It is difficult to find different ways of preparing and choosing different veggies to eat! I still can’t wait to eat some solid meat tomorrow and enjoy anything I want again. 🙂 Continue reading
