Ramen, Poutine, Wings Tasting at Ramyun

Located at 1 Baldwin Street in Toronto

Earlier this week, I was invited to Ramyun by the owner of the restaurant for a complimentary meal.  Harry said that he had just opened Ramyun and wanted me to try out their restaurant by providing a free appetizer, a ramyun dish (two if I was bringing a friend), and half a pound of their house chicken wings.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Muse

Mon Ami Gabi, Las Vegas. June 2015

This is my muse — food and travelling.  Take this away from me and I will die a little bit on the inside.

I can’t get enough of having new experiences.  No matter where you go to eat food, the experience is different.  Whether it be the food itself, the restaurant, the location, the company that you’re eating with, the experience, and even yourself as a person — it is different every single time.   Continue reading

Breakfast at Eggsmart (Leslie & 16th location)

Located at 1550 16th Ave. in Richmond Hill

Christian and I had an early breakfast at the Eggsmart at the Leslie and 16th location in Richmond Hill recently.  It was nice that he doesn’t start work until 10 a.m. so that we could meet up for breakfast here.  The restaurant was empty except for one other table when I arrived.  The girl that was working there was very friendly and even ensured that the wifi was working for me when I asked for it.   Continue reading

Dining at Copacabana Brazilian Steakhouse!!

Located at 230 Adelaide St. West in Toronto

I really have been looking forward to dining at this restaurant for a long time now!  Copacabana is a Brazilian steakhouse franchise that has locations all over Toronto and even in Niagara.  They base their cooking on Brazilian-style grills where slabs of meat are stuck on a stick, seasoned, and grilled.  They have an all-you-can-eat style where after you peruse their beautiful salad bar, you sit at your table and carvers (gauchos) with the meat come around to your table and ask if you want any.  It’s a beautiful restaurant and I am so happy that I got to try this place!   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: ROY G. BIV

Rainbow in Markham. May 2015

This week’s theme is so fun!  ROY G. BIV means the colours of the rainbow!  Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. 🙂  Just several weeks ago, we saw a big giant rainbow spreading across the sky in Markham.  There were many social media posts that went up on Facebook and the like because of it.  I took one of course too, naturally! 😉   Continue reading

Congee Queen (Thornhill)

Located at 2930 Steeles Avenue East in Thornhill

I’ve blogged about other Congee Queen locations quite a few times now.  If you don’t know what they serve, go read my other blog posts!  Haha.  But really, Congee Queen is a Chinese restaurant that serves affordable, high-quality Chinese food in dishes like congee, noodles, rice, and more.  They have a huge terrific menu that you can choose from.   Continue reading

Korean Fried Chicken at The Fry (Bloor/Bathurst location)

plate of Green Onion Chicken

The Fry located at 524 Bloor Street West in Toronto

I love going with big groups to eat at new places like The Fry!  Julie organized 11 people to try out her favourite Korean fried chicken restaurant (also known for fun as the “other KFC”).  The Fry has three locations and their Bloor and Bathurst location is the newest to open up (their two other locations are the North York and Sheppard and Cummer location).   Continue reading

Sweet Note Desserts [Defunct]

Located at 505 Highway 7 East, Unit 61-63 in Markham

Nicole, Ron, and I visited Sweet Note Desserts on a Thursday afternoon to hang out and to try the desserts.  I’ve heard of Sweet Note before and have passed by their storefront many times when I’ve eaten at the Commerce Gate Plaza (King Dragon Cuisine, Donburi, Shaanxi).  This was my first time trying them out!

Walking into the dessert shop, it was actually so much more spacious than I expected it to be. There was a lot of open space where there were tables and chairs with the cutest homemade lollipop centre pieces.   Continue reading

Dinner at Queen Mother Cafe

Located at 208 Queen Street West in Toronto

Sophia and I met up to catch up after over four years of not having seen each other!  It was so fun to talk about just anything and realize that we actually have a ton of things in common.  So cool!  Most of all, our biggest commonality lies in us both being adventurous foodies!   Continue reading
