Korean Food at School Food [Defunct]

Located at Shop 107, 1/F, New Town Plaza Phase 1, 18 Sha Tin Centre Street, Sha Tin in Hong Kong

We finally had the chance to check out School Food, a Korean restaurant in Sha Tin.  (I swear, I’m pretty much checking off this whole block of restaurants here).  It’s funny that I willingly and excitedly decided on this restaurant considering we had JUST landed on the plane from South Korea a mere 10 hours ago.  I don’t mind Korean food one bit and I didn’t even get sick of eating kimchi during every single meal for six days straight.  Ha!   Continue reading

Jade Garden in Mongkok (Hong Kong)

Located at Shop 803-803A, Level 8, Grand Century Place, Mongkok, Kowloon in Hong Kong

Jade Garden is part of the Maxim’s Chinese Cuisine group, a large corporation that owns many restaurants in Hong Kong.  My relatives and I had a ‘reunion’ dinner here.

Even the restaurant, Jade Garden, itself has many branches all over Hong Kong.  The one we dined in was located in Mongkok on the top level of Grand Century Plaza.   Continue reading

Wing Wah Noodle Shop (Hong Kong)

Located at 89 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai in Hong Kong

Wonton noodle restaurants are commonplace to see in Hong Kong but none has as long a history and is as classic as the one called Wing Wah Noodle Shop that resides on Hennessy Road in Wan Chai, Hong Kong.

At first, I didn’t even notice this restaurant much (as there was also no English name to its signage), but upon closer look, I noticed that the front of the restaurant is posted with a picture of the Michelin Man with some text.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Twinkle

apm Shopping Mall, Hong Kong. November 2014

For those who are counting (not me), there are 13 days left until Christmas Day.  That’s less than two weeks!  Those of you would have noticed all the Christmas and winter holiday decorations hoisted up and advertised immediately after the Halloween costumes were worn.   Continue reading

Steno & Snow

This picture actually doesn’t make it look that bad. But it was very bad.

It’s been a while since I blogged about anything steno-related, so here goes.  (I bet those of you who followed my blog specifically for the steno posts are fed up with me inundating you with all the food reviews and weekly photo challenge pictures.. well, too bad :p).

On this snowy day where Mother Nature brought us upwards of 5-10 cm of snow (that wet white flying stuff that gets stuck in your wheels) during the night, I had a reporting job scheduled for the next day.  Continue reading

Breakfast at Oliver’s Super Sandwiches

Located at Shop 126, 1/F, New Town Plaza Phase 1, 18 Sha Tin Centre Street, Sha Tin in Hong Kong

For a quick breakfast in the morning, we stopped by Oliver’s Super Sandwiches one day to grab some western-style breakfast.  This restaurant has an open concept and where you choose your order from the big display, order and pay at the counter, find your own seating, and your order is then brought to you on a plastic tray by one of the busy runners.   Continue reading

Cowman Restaurant (Hong Kong)

Located at Shop 9-10, G/F, The Concord Building, 60-104 Soy Street, Mong Kok in Hong Kong

On a Monday, we had afternoon tea at Cowman Restaurant.  We chose this place over the soup noodles place next door since it looked more clean, spacious, and inviting.  They had a loud sign that showed they had free wifi too so obviously for me that is a sure yes (haha).

Cowman Restaurant (interesting name) is a HK-style cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner sets.  Yum!!  My kind of restaurant. ❤   Continue reading

Crema Coffee (Hong Kong)

Located at Shop LG17, LG/F, Hilton Towers, 96 Granville Road, Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong

I had a bit of time to myself while in Tsim Sha Tsui so I selected a small restaurant after looking around the area and landed at Crema Coffee which is located down a small flight of stairs in an underground walkway.

This restaurant captured my attention because it served Western lunch sets and provided free wifi (always such a draw for me while travelling.. or not =o) ).   Continue reading

UCC Coffee Shop (Hong Kong)

Located at Shop 408&410, 4/F, New Town Plaza Phase 1, 18 Sha Tin Centre Street, Sha Tin in Hong Kong

After our little dessert time at Honeymoon Desserts, we went to UCC Coffee Shop to indulge in their dinner time special.  For only HKD $40 more, you could get unlimited food from their salad bar if you also order a dinner item set.  “Unlimited” food means that you can get a bowl and pile on as much leafy greens or jello or salad bar items as you can.   Continue reading
