My Favourite Dishes at Golden Shanghai Restaurant
June 2013: This is a restaurant that serves Shanghai food that I’ve visited every so often over the past several years. I don’t remember when was the first time I stepped into this restaurant as it was many years ago, but because of the really good food that they serve here, I’ve been coming back again and again every time I feel like having some of my favourite Shanghainese dishes.

A First Dinner Visit to Richmond Station
My friend and I visited this little restaurant called Richmond Station a week ago to have a nice catch-up dinner since she had just returned from teaching overseas and travelling away from home for over two years. It was a quaint little restaurant and not too loud inside so it was perfect to eat and catch up. Continue reading

Yamamoto Japanese Cuisine [Defunct]
My friends and I went to a Japanese all-you-can-eat restaurant last night and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and yumminess of the food! It’s a new restaurant that opened up at Market Village where the Mongolian grill place used to be. Continue reading

Translation Statistics
On Friday, I shadowed a fellow friend and former CCVS grad and now court reporter at an examination for discovery. There was an interpreter for this examination and it pertained to a local business! I was pretty excited for it since the material was relevant and I had never been on an examination where there was an interpreter before. The witness spoke in Cantonese, interestingly, so I was actually able to understand what was being said without the interpreter. Continue reading

Short shadowing session
I shadowed Lisa today again on a case! Yay! To my surprise, the case was only 48 minutes lol. We started at 10 a.m. sharp and before we even had any sort of break at all, the lawyer announced he was done questioning. To date, this is the shortest case I’ve been on. I’m not complaining, of course; I got to spend the rest of my day completing things on my to-do list. Continue reading
Zumba
I think I’m addicted. I had my fourth class doing Zumba tonight and I’m still pumped and energetic from the high energy and endorphins from the class. Amazing!! I was just looking up classes and more locations where I can learn Zumba from and it appears that there’s a TON of places to go to! I’m so excited!!! Continue reading

Job Shadowing at the Federal Court
Cool beans! I got to shadow a court reporter today at a Federal Court trial. 😀 This doesn’t happen very often since special permission needs to be asked; students from our school typically sit in on cases at the reporting agency or the Law Society of Upper Canada. Continue reading
