Even though I just blogged about the opening of a new Captain’s Boil restaurant in Newmarket the other day, I can’t help but to blog about the follow-up visit that I had there as well. A day and a half after visiting the Newmarket location of The Captain’s Boil restaurant for their Media Night, I was craving their fresh seafood (especially those generous and meaty king crab legs) and their signature Captain’s Boil sauce that I just had to go back. The Captain’s Boil Media Night in Newmarket

The Captain’s Boil has docked in Newmarket! Toronto’s most popular and fastest growing seafood boil restaurant opened its newest location (their tenth location in the Greater Toronto Area) at 16640 Yonge Street, Unit 3! (Their grand opening is next Friday, January 20, 2017.)

Cross Bridge Noodles at A! Xiang

My dining experience at A! Xiang was a terrible, terrible one from start to finish.

A! Xiang is a newly opened restaurant in Markham located at the Commerce Gate Plaza at Highway 7 near Commerce Valley Drive West. A! Xiang takes over the spot where Jyuban Ramen House used to be (that ramen house was also terrible in their service). A! Xiang serves Yunnan noodles known as “cross bridge noodles” where an assortment of raw ingredients and rice noodles arrive to the table and then are put straight into a steaming bowl of broth to be “cooked” at the table. After our play time at Dave & Buster’s, we were in search of dinner. It was prime time Saturday night and all the restaurants around the area were packed. Despite the hostess informing us of a 20-minute wait, we decided to eat at Earls Kitchen + Bar. I had previously been to the Earls in Edmonton at the West Edmonton Mall and recalled it with dissatisfaction because my salmon entrée was extremely salty. Continue reading →

Putting Edge in Vaughan

Other than the brief mini golf course that I had played on the Norwegian Getaway cruise last year, I had never been to a mini putt golf course before! I was really excited to try it out. We knew that we wanted to try the infamous Korean spicy chicken cooked over a grill with a melted cheese ring around it so we decided on a wintry Friday night to go to Kobi Korean BBQ Restaurant to check out how they made it here in Toronto.
