Prix Fixe Dinner at Sambuca Grill

Located at 21 Baldwin Street in Toronto

I’ve been to the other location of Sambuca before; the one that is on Church street.  I remember dining there and being genuinely and pleasantly surprised with the amazing quality of the food and the generous portion of the food.

Sambuca Grill is located on Baldwin Street where there are a lot of restaurants along the street.   Continue reading

Prix Fixe Lunch at Smash Kitchen & Bar

Located at 4261 Highway 7 East in Markham

A couple of weeks ago, my blogger friend Violet and I went on a lunch date to Smash Kitchen and Bar in Markham!  Upon arriving at the restaurant and being seated at a spacious booth that could have fitted two more, I realised that there was a prix fixe menu being offered!  I immediately became aware that it was being offered as part of the York Region Savour the Seasons event that is happening from July 14 to 27.  Continue reading

A Quick Dinner at iQ Food Co.

Located at 181 Bay St in Toronto

Before we sat our butts down to watch the nearly 4-hour long Katy Perry concert on a Monday (2 hours opening acts + 2 hours KP), Jenny and I dined at iQ Food Co.  I was searching for something quick to eat that was near the Air Canada Centre and came across this restaurant on urbanspoon.   Continue reading

Summerlicious 2014 Restaurant #9: Banu

Located at 777 Queen St W in Toronto

Banu was my final stop on my Summerlicious 2014 journey this year (insert sad face).  The three October babies reunited again for a prix fixe meal; I think that’s what we do best and enjoy the most. 🙂

Banu features Iranian cuisine, one that I’m sure I haven’t tried before.  I was excited to try out all the dishes on their menu.  🙂 I’ve seen it before many times on previous Summerlicious & Winterlicious so I know this restaurant has been around for a while.   Continue reading

Summerlicious Restaurant 2014 #1: Vaticano Italian Restaurant

Located at 25 Bellair St in Toronto

For my first Summerlicious restaurant this season, I went to Vaticano Italian Restaurant with Steph.  She wanted to try an Italian cuisine in the heart of Yorkville (posh neighborhood in Toronto where a lot of celebrities dine and shop).   Continue reading

The Pottery Restaurant

Located at 110 Jozo Weider Blvd at the Blue Mountains

I originally wasn’t planning to blog about this restaurant since we didn’t really dine in at The Pottery Restaurant, but their take-out service was so exceptional that I really wanted to highlight them.  An hour before we were to depart from Blue Mountain after our wonderful weekend away playing survival team games and treetop trekking, we gathered at the Blue Mountain inn to wait for our lovely coach bus to take us back to Markham.  Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Zigzag

Shen Zhen, China.  July 2008

Time is zigzagging for me right now and I don’t have too much time moving forward to choose an ideal photo, so this one will do!  These plastic statue children are rushing up the stairs in a zigzag fashion!  It reminds me of how life is like — zigzagging all over the place and not always in a straight line.   Continue reading

Mile High Poutine at the Blue Mountain Village!

Located at 156 Jozo Weider Boulevard in the Blue Mountains

Due to the brief interruption of rain, thunder, and lightning just as we were strapped into our treetop trekking gear at our Blue Mountain summer getaway, we weren’t able to go on the Timber Challenge High Ropes course for another 30 minutes.  We decided to go for a quick lunch instead!   Continue reading

Mon Sheong Summer Retreat 2014: Survive the Mountain

Treetop trekking at Blue Mountain during our summer retreat!

Last weekend, I got the chance to partake in Mon Sheong’s summer retreat with a group of young and enthusiastic upcoming leaders and adventure-goers!  While some of them were already my dear friends who I know from before, I got the chance to meet some new friends as well!  It was a wonderful weekend where two chalets at Blue Mountain Village were rented out and we spent time away from our usual technology/wifi spots (at least for me) to learn how to have fun in team games, spend time outdoors, and learn a thing or two about each other and ourselves.  It was so fun and such a relaxing yet adventurous retreat! 😀   Continue reading

Summerlicious 2014 Restaurant #5: STOCK Restaurant Bar & Lounge

Located at Trump International Hotel & Tower
325 Bay St, 31st Floor in Toronto

STOCK Restaurant Bar & Lounge is located at the 31st floor of the Trump International Hotel & Tower in the Financial District of Toronto (read:  fancy schmacy).  Danny was awesome enough to make a reservation for the four of us foodies well in advance.  We got a table for the 8:30 p.m. table seating on a Friday night.  Woohoo!
