More Delicious Georgian Food at Aragvi Restaurant

Aragvi Restaurant (previously) located at 832 Sheppard Ave W in North York

I had the pleasure of being invited to dine at Aragvi Restaurant by one of the managers.  Arik noticed that I wrote a very honest and positive review of their restaurant back when I visited Aragvi last month with my friend Jen that he wanted to show his appreciation by inviting me back to the restaurant for some food.   Continue reading

Taiwanese Food at Mei Nung Beef Noodle House

Located at 3255 Highway 7 East, Unit 15 in Markham

Sarah and I had dinner at Mei Nung Beef Noodle House which is located in First Markham Place — I swear, this place has so many restaurants around its outside mall strip that I still haven’t tried every single one yet!  Some restaurants that I’ve been to are: Ding Tai Fung Shanghai Dim Sum, Firefly Seafood & Steakhouse, Lemon Tree, Lambie Bubble Tea, and most recently Aka Teppan, among others.   Continue reading

Aka Teppan — Japanese Fusion Cuisine [Defunct]

Located at 3235 Hwy 7 in Markham

One of the newest and most talked about restaurants at the First Markham Place plaza is this one:  Aka Teppan.  The first time I heard about it was when my friend Jason showed me a picture of the food that he had there, telling me I had to go there and try it out.  Since then, I’ve seen it on other friends’ social media pages as well.  (I’m telling you, social media is so powerful nowadays!).   Continue reading

Sporking a deal at Insomnia!

Located at 563 Bloor St W in Toronto

I had the privilege of meeting two of the founders of a brand new sparkling app called Spork yesterday and seeing how their app works in person for the first time.

Spork is a free iPhone app (they are rolling out the android version out in a couple of weeks) that allows users to save money on great nearby restaurants by finding real-time deals.   Continue reading

Lim Ga Ne Korean Restaurant (Yonge and Finch)

banchan from Lim Ga Ne

Lim Ga Ne located at 5529 Yonge Street in North York

May 8, 2014:  Yesterday, I blogged about a Korean restaurant in the downtown part of Koreatown.  Today’s blog post features Lim Ga Ne, another Korean restaurant but in the other Koreatown — the uptown one at Yonge and Finch!  Essentially, both Koreatowns are similar as they both have some of the same restaurants and have a large concentration of Korean customers (they both have Joons and this restaurant!). Jajangmyeon at the Roll House

Located at 648A Bloor St W in Toronto

I’ve been to Roll House before!  Back in the summer time of 2012, several university friends and I were gathering to have dinner together in Koreatown in Toronto and one friend recommended this restaurant as having one of the best Jajangmyeon in town!   Continue reading

Snakes & Lattes, Board Game Café

Located at 600 Bloor Street W in Toronto

Snakes & Lattes is a board game café and was the first one to open and gain prominence in Toronto.  The idea is simple:  You pay a cover of $5 to enter the cozy establishment with friend or two or more, choose a board game from the array of choices on the bookshelves, and sit down and play.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: On the Move

On the move from our tour bus to the Jinan Railway Station and en route to Shanghai!  July 2013

Upon seeing the subject of this week’s photo challenge, I knew immediately — IMMEDIATELY — of which photo to feature.  Haha, this photo definitely embodies what I think “on the move” means and those of us who were actually in this picture would agree with me, I’m sure!
