Taking off a day of work to work?

.

I just saw this status from a steno colleague of mine.  She says, “I love having the day off so I can get work done. Happy Friday!”   Continue reading

3rd Annual Toronto Wing Festival

3rd Annual Toronto Wing Festival at Daniels Spectrum

This was my first time attending Toronto’s Wing Festival.  Apparently this was the third year that they hosted it.  I’m sure a lot of people don’t even know about this festival, so hopefully this blog post will bring more awareness to this foodie event and also have you drooling over my chicken wing pictures.  Hahaha, I’m joking about the last part, but I really did eat a lot of wings this past weekend. =]   Continue reading

Eating Caribbean Food at Cravins!

Located at 7270 Woodbine Ave in Markham

I can’t believe that this is the first time I can recall trying and eating jerk chicken!  I’ve always heard of this dish but somehow it has always eluded my dining choices.  Who knew that there was such an authentic Caribbean eatery around the Markham area for this type of food?   Continue reading

Cheap Eats at Hai Tang Bakery & Coffee

This place is a gem!  Hai Tang Bakery & Coffee was predominantly a bakery where you could buy Chinese buns and baked goods, but over time it has transformed into a little cafe where you can order extremely cheap combo meals for food that is delicious and in large portions!  They serve breakfast items, and lunch and dinner combos as well.  Continue reading

Late Night Desserts at Hung Fook Tong

Located at 633 Silver Star Boulevard, Unit 121 in Scarborough

Hung Fook Tong is a restaurant that specializes in Chinese desserts.  The name Hung Fook Tong is well recognised in Hong Kong and Asia where the company has numerous stores and products.  It’s a popular spot to grab some late night dessert.  In terms of whether this restaurant comes from the same company as the legitimate one in Hong Kong, I’m doubtful.  Continue reading

Japanese Express

A need for a speedy lunch led us to eat at Japanese Express in Pacific Mall.  This is not so much a real restaurant as just one of the many food shops open in the food court area on the second floor of the famed Asian super mall.   Continue reading

Cleaning up Little Norway Park

Little Norway Park in downtown Toronto

Last week, as part of the spring time Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, a group of eager Mother Nature lovers and I landed upon Little Norway Park to rid its space of any litter that others have left behind.  The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is an initiative started by the WWF and the Vancouver Aquarium that happens on a bi-yearly basis across Canada to improve the appearance of our shorelines and protects wildlife from human garbage. West 50 Pourhouse & Grille

Sharing food all night with good friends : )

My friend Clarissa held her bachelorette party last weekend at West 50 Pourhouse & Grille in Mississauga.  We had our own private room for over 25 guests.  It was a nice secluded area for us to mingle, eat, and catch up.  An interesting part about this restaurant is that after 9:30 p.m., there is a live band playing and it turns into a lounge/club where there is a $5 cover charge for dancing.   Continue reading

Beer Flights & Birthday at Bier Markt (King West)

Located at 600 King Street West in Toronto

My dear friend Tracy celebrated her birthday at Bier Markt last weekend.  (Happy [post] birthday, Tracy!!!!)  I’ve never been to Bier Markt before even though they have a number of locations all across Toronto — this one, King West, the Esplanade, Don Mills, Queensway, and Square One.  From its name, you can tell that it specializes in beer and a lot of it!   Continue reading
