This week’s photo challenge displays the proverbial sign of spring:  Flowers blooming and trees budding!  Just look at these little buds open up and blossom into leaves. : )

Cleaning up Little Norway Park

Little Norway Park in downtown Toronto

Last week, as part of the spring time Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, a group of eager Mother Nature lovers and I landed upon Little Norway Park to rid its space of any litter that others have left behind.  The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is an initiative started by the WWF and the Vancouver Aquarium that happens on a bi-yearly basis across Canada to improve the appearance of our shorelines and protects wildlife from human garbage. West 50 Pourhouse & Grille

Sharing food all night with good friends : )

My friend Clarissa held her bachelorette party last weekend at West 50 Pourhouse & Grille in Mississauga.  We had our own private room for over 25 guests.  It was a nice secluded area for us to mingle, eat, and catch up.  An interesting part about this restaurant is that after 9:30 p.m., there is a live band playing and it turns into a lounge/club where there is a $5 cover charge for dancing.   Continue reading

Beer Flights & Birthday at Bier Markt (King West)

Located at 600 King Street West in Toronto

My dear friend Tracy celebrated her birthday at Bier Markt last weekend.  (Happy [post] birthday, Tracy!!!!)  I’ve never been to Bier Markt before even though they have a number of locations all across Toronto — this one, King West, the Esplanade, Don Mills, Queensway, and Square One.  From its name, you can tell that it specializes in beer and a lot of it!   Continue reading

Fresh Burger (Richmond Hill location)

Fresh Burger located at 9206 Leslie Street in Richmond Hill

Not only have I passed by Fresh Burger several times but I’ve also heard about its appeal from several friends recently.  Thus, it was only natural for me to hop in for a visit and see what all the hype was about! 🙂

Fresh Burger is a family-owned business located in a small plaza near a Tim Hortons at the intersection of Leslie and 16th.   Continue reading

Mi-NE Japanese Restaurant

Located at 10815 Yonge St in Richmond Hill

A little simple lunch with a simple hang-out with a friend:  Jenny and I had sushi at Mi-NE Japanese Restaurant last week.  It’s a restaurant that has a location in Richmond Hill (and apparently is not linked to the locations in Markham, Aurora, and downtown*).  It has garnered fairly high reviews online and is worth checking out.   Continue reading

Museum Tavern

Located at 208 Bloor St. W. #201 in Toronto

After a thorough and fascinating learning experience at the ROM’s Forbidden City exhibit, Godwin, Gen, and I headed for some early dinner at Museum Tavern.  I’ve heard lots of good things about this restaurant!  At least two friends of mine who tried out their Winterlicious menu in February commented that the food was great.   Continue reading

Georgian Dishes at Aragvi Restaurant

Located at 832 Sheppard Ave W in North York

This restaurant blew my socks off!  Despite the high ratings on urbanspoon that this restaurant earned, I never expected the food to be THIS good!  I definitely recommend a visit to this probably-overlooked restaurant in North York.

My friend Jen and I chose to catch up Aragvi Restaurant.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Letters

my steno machine that I use to type with : )

Instead of showing you a picture of letters, whether of how the alphabet can be rendered in different shapes, fonts, or sizes, or of physical letters that you send through snail mail, let me show you how I “type” out letters on an everyday basis:  I use my stenograph!

Dim Sum at Paramount Chinese Cuisine (take two)

Located at 550 Highway 7 East, Building E, 2nd Floor in Richmond Hill

Back in October, I bought this Groupon deal for $15 of $25 worth of food at Paramount Chinese Cuisine & Banquet Hall.  I recently blogged about this restaurant when I dined here with family for dim sum.  Here are some more food pictures of what we ate when we dined here this time!
