September 20, 2017:
We went to the Tai Kok Tsui branch of North Viet Pho (越北牛肉粉專門店) for dinner. We were one of a handful of tables inside the strongly air-conditioned and quiet restaurant. I ordered the Vietnamese Sausage with Tomato Soup Pho while my mom ordered the Beef with Satay Soup Pho.
The orders came out straight away. I liked that the soup broths were steaming hot. The slanted single serving bowls had a good portion of pho inside too.
The Vietnamese Sausage in my Vietnamese Sausage with Tomato Soup Pho bowl had slivers of other meats embedded into it too. There was a strong herb taste. I liked the texture of the pho noodles. The tomato soup was strong too.
The bowl of Beef with Satay Soup Pho that my mom ordered didn’t really have a spicy satay soup base to it. I tried a piece of beef and thought it was quite rough.
This was a nice quiet meal. It seems that North Viet Pho is a franchise and serves decent pho and other Vietnamese offerings.
