I helped plant 4 trees this year as part of Trees Across Toronto! 🙂
I helped plant trees for the first time in spring 2013 when it was part of the DiSCOVER 2013 program events. I love participating in new experiences and planting a tree two years ago was definitely something new that I wanted to do. This year, as part of the Trillium Lions event, I participated again! Yay!
This is actually a yearly event that anyone can participate in as part of the Trees Across Toronto event as part of Toronto’s initiative to plant more trees around the Toronto area. There were many sponsors and partnerships that made this tree event possible. Most importantly, they needed a lot of volunteers to help do the work! Continue reading
Rainbow Springs, New Zealand. April 2015
When we were in New Zealand last month, we visited Rainbow Springs, a haven in New Zealand where hundreds of native trees and wildlife live. It’s also a place where they have raised and released more than 1,200 kiwi birds into the wild. During our tour in the facility, we were greeted with many of these beautiful coastal Redwood trees. These are different from the giant sequoia trees as they’re more slender and have these beautiful intricate leaves. Continue reading

This restaurant screams “comfort food” to me. There’s nothing better any time of the year than to sit down with a bowl of hot soup noodles with a side dish or two of seasoned meat or meat prepared in a pastry.
