Weekly Photo Challenge: Enveloped

Lantau Island, Hong Kong. January 2012

Be ready for some pontificating! 😉  This week’s theme is “enveloped” and when I think of this word, I think of a warm cuddly feeling of being wrapped up in a blanket and wound up like a little cocoon.  I can’t remember taking a picture of something like this so instead, I’m using this picture of fog.   Continue reading

Dinner at Pai Northern Thai Kitchen

Located on 18 Duncan Street in Toronto

Joyce and I finally had a catch-up dinner at Pai Northern Thai Kitchen.  This restaurant has been on top of the almost-extinct Urbanspoon top restaurant list for a while now so I definitely had my eye on it.  It is located on Duncan Street off of King Street West in the Entertainment/Theatre District in downtown Toronto.

Its exterior has an interesting yet simple facade.  After you open the doors, you head down a flight of stairs to where the dining room is.   Continue reading

Pastel Creperie & Dessert House (Yonge/Finch location)

Located at 5417 Yonge Street in North York

Yay!  I finally got to try out this place!  Pastel Creperie & Dessert House has been on my to-eat-at-list for a while now.  We finally had a chance to come here after Jen and I decided that this would be a great place to have desserts after our activity-filled day — we went hiking in Sunnybrook Park and had dinner at Congee Queen.

Congee Queen (Don Mills/Lawrence location)

Located at 895 Lawrence Ave E Unit 8 in North York

It’s funny that I found myself at another location of Congee Queen so soon after I had just ate at the Agincourt location.  After we finished a beautiful spring hike in Sunnybrook Park and Edwards Garden, we trekked back to Shops on Don Mills and crossed the street to where there was a small plaza.   Continue reading

Desserts at Dessert Kitchen

Located at 3623 Hwy 7 East, Unit 106 in Markham

Dessert Kitchen is a restaurant at Warden and Highway 7 in Markham that serves many varieties of Western and Asian desserts as well as lunches and dinners.  I wanted to dine out for desserts and this place was the one that appealed to me and that I hadn’t tried out yet.

We actually walked in at the right time after 9 p.m. on a Friday night since there were still many tables that were open.   Continue reading

Revisiting Papa Chang’s

Located at 5970 16th Ave, Unit 10 in Markham

Recently, I visited Zen Q and tried their popcorn chicken and commented that I still thought Papa Chang’s had the best popcorn chicken I’ve ever tried.  I returned back to Papa Chang’s since I was in the mood for some popcorn chicken and really wanted to see if my opinion still held true.  The first time I ate at Papa Chang’s was over a year ago in January 2014.   Continue reading

A Milestone and a talk on #Hashtags

Council Chambers, North York Civic Centre. May 2015

A year ago, I would never have thought that I’d be speaking publicly in front of over 300 young entrepreneurs at the North York City Hall.  It’s so interesting to see where life takes you, and so far on this journey, I’ve been honing my communication and public speaking skills.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Forces of Nature

Mt. Cook, New Zealand.  April 2015

Without a doubt, this is a force of nature to me.  Just look at those huge looming mountains and large surfaces of land that has erupted out of the earth.  It’s truly incredible.  Man couldn’t make that even if he tried because there’s nothing as unique as nature and what it can create and destroy.  (Lame? :)).   Continue reading

Congee Queen (Agincourt Mall)

Located at 3850 Sheppard Ave E (Agincourt Mall) Unit 0425 in Scarborough

So funny that I found myself here again so soon.  There are so many Congee Queen‘s all across the GTA now and it doesn’t come as a surprise because of how delicious the Chinese food is and how affordable it is.  The menu also offers a variety of rice, noodle, soup, congee, and BBQ items.   Continue reading
