1 Dundas St E in Toronto
My friends and I took a quick peek at the 2nd annual Toronto Japanese Summer Festival, Matsuri, that was happening downtown on the summery day of July 27. The weather was really nice with a slight breeze and very, very sunny. There were a lot of stalls selling Japanese art, cutlery, dolls, and performances on stage too. Of course, there was also a line-up of food stalls featuring Japanese vendors like Fin Izakaya, Touhenboku, Kingyo, and more. Continue reading

Rosa doesn’t come to downtown Toronto very often so it was so nice to meet up with her when she was in town recently. Along with Qiqi, we were looking for a food joint in the Dundas and College area. This restaurant, Noodle Star, is another variation of the many “Congee Queens”, “Congee Wongs”, and “Congee Times” out there. They’re Chinese-owned and run and serve everything from breakfast sets to lunch sets to dinner sets with anything from chow mein to fried rice to noodle soups and of course congee.
Located at 6380 Fallsview Blvd in Niagara Falls
Last month, my mom and I had dinner at this fancy schmacy Italian restaurant, Ponte Vecchio, which is located in Niagara Falls in the Fallsview Casino. The atmosphere was romantic and the light fixtures were so pretty that I just had to take pictures of it. Our server was so genuine and accommodating all night that I really do have to commend her services. Continue reading
Green Grotto Tea Room located at 3623 Hwy 7 in Markham
Did you know that there’s a Green Grotto Tea Room located at Highway 7 & Warden? It’s in the plaza where Paintlounge used to be and where that sushi restaurant, Gal’s Sushi, still is. During the break at one of our seminars last month, we visited this Green Grotto briefly for a snack and drink. Continue reading
