Snow Ice Dessert at Cha Me Cha

Located at 5369 Yonge Street in Toronto

Some of you might have seen my facebook picture of three mountains of what looks like shaven ice desserts on a hot summer day.  Well, here’s the review for the restaurant where I got it from! (I know, finally, right!).

After some fun at Great Escape, sushi at Kayagum, Marvin decided to take us out for dessert at Cha Me Cha where he said there was an amazing dessert we had to try.   Continue reading

Kayagum Korean Restaurant

Located at 5460 Yonge Street in Toronto

I’ve been to Kayagum four times now!!  The perks of being backlogged on this blog is that almost a full month has passed from the point that I first stepped into Kayagum 24 Hours Korean Restaurant until now and in that span of time, I’ve returned again and again to dine here.   Continue reading

Oh Geul Boh Geul

Located at 5320 Yonge St in North York

After a spectacularly eventful and fun core meeting at our super duper new location at the North York City Hall, we ventured over to Oh Geul Boh Geul for some dinner.  We were a big group of 8 and the restaurant was spacious enough to fit us all at the table near the wall.

We decided to share an assortment of Korean dishes.  Oh Geul Boh Geul is on Yonge Street (in the uptown Koreantown) and just a short distance from Finch Subway Station which makes it easy to get to.   Continue reading

Ocean Seafood Restaurant [Defunct]

Located at 328 Hwy 7 East in Richmond Hill

At first, I thought Ocean Seafood Restaurant was a Chinese restaurant that only featured fancy six-course dinners with seafood and chicken and your other typical Chinese dishes.  However, when we walked in looking for a casual HK-style cafe, Ocean Seafood Restaurant actually had a breakfast and lunch combo that fit exactly what a HK-style cafe serves!   Continue reading

Roll Play Cafe

Located at 10 Edward Street in Toronto

After we had lunch and checked out the Matsuri Japanese Summer Festival, we headed to Roll Play Cafe for some indoor fun.  Roll Play Cafe is not the first board game cafe to arrived in Toronto; Snakes and Lattes was.  Like a typical board game cafe, it features shelves and shelves of board games that you can play with for a set fee of $5.  Rosa and Qiqi had been here before and back then they used to set a minimum order of $7 or so instead of a set playing fee where you could order food as part of the $7.   Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fray

Bayside Marketplace, Miami. February 2014

This week’s photo challenge really reminds me of how we sometimes just have to take random pictures when you’re in the moment because you never know how the picture or memory can come into use.  What I’m talking about specifically is how I managed to dig up this photo that I took this year when I went to Miami for the first time with some wonderful people.   Continue reading

Matsuri Japanese Festival 2014

1 Dundas St E in Toronto

My friends and I took a quick peek at the 2nd annual Toronto Japanese Summer Festival, Matsuri, that was happening downtown on the summery day of July 27.  The weather was really nice with a slight breeze and very, very sunny.  There were a lot of stalls selling Japanese art, cutlery, dolls, and performances on stage too.  Of course, there was also a line-up of food stalls featuring Japanese vendors like Fin Izakaya, Touhenboku, Kingyo, and more.   Continue reading

Schwarmas at Lebanon Express

Located at 439 Yonge Street in Toronto

Rosa doesn’t come to downtown Toronto very often so it was so nice to meet up with her when she was in town recently.  Along with Qiqi, we were looking for a food joint in the Dundas and College area.  We stopped food searching when we came across Lebanon Express since Rosa had never had a shawarma before.   Continue reading

Noodle Star

Located at 9255 Woodbine Avenue in Markham

This restaurant, Noodle Star, is another variation of the many “Congee Queens”, “Congee Wongs”, and “Congee Times” out there.  They’re Chinese-owned and run and serve everything from breakfast sets to lunch sets to dinner sets with anything from chow mein to fried rice to noodle soups and of course congee.
