Lunch at Mezza Notte Trattoria

Located at 11 Disera Drive in Thornhill

I never knew that this little part of the city existed!  Betty suggested Mezza Notte Trattoria for lunch, the location that is in Thornhill.  The restaurant is located right on the corner of a very quaint and quiet neighbourhood with little shops and restaurants bordering a larger mall.  Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Extra, Extra

Trip to the maritimes, Canada.  July 2007

This past week’s photo challenge brings into focus something that is an extra part in our lives.  Since I’ve been travelling in the past week, I think this photo is fitting.  This picture was taken when I was traveling in 2007 to the maritimes.  My fellow friend carried a little blue bear with him on the trip as we discovered the eastern provinces of Canada on a bus tour:

Panera Bread (downtown/Ryerson location)

Located at 322 Yonge Street in Toronto

Wow, I was very surprised with how amazing Panera Bread was!  I’ve heard from friends that Panera Bread was amazing, but I never expected to fall in love with it that much.  It was so great that I actually went to the same location for food twice in one day.   Continue reading

Dim Sum at Golden Court Abalone Restaurant

Located at 270 West Beaver Creek Road in Richmond Hill

I’ve heard a lot of great things about this Chinese restaurant, one of which is that this place is so good that it’s worth its high price point.  I heard from a friend a long time along that his cousin got married here and the food was amazing and it was well worth the bills to eat here.   Continue reading

Desserts at Caffé Demetré [Defunct]

Located at 100 York Boulevard in Richmond Hill

I’ve been to Caffé Demetré for dessert at this location in the past.  It’s a really nice and modern restaurant that specializes in only desserts and drinks.  Talk about a sugar rush!  They have a huge menu full of waffles, ice cream, cakes, crepes, coffees and teas!  It’s a great place to go to hang out with friends for a late night chat over some sweet treats which is what Jen and I did on this Saturday night.   Continue reading

Sushi Dragon on Anime North night

Located at 634 Dixon Road in Etobicoke

After a full evening of walking around the Anime North convention and taking pictures of many amazing cosplays, we opted for dinner at Sushi Dragon that was just a 3-minute walk from the Toronto Convention Centre.  Since the anime/manga convention was right next door to this restaurant and many others, there were a lot of hungry cosplay fans and convention goers at this time.   Continue reading

My first time attending Anime North!

The Final Fantasy cosplay group photoshoot at Anime North 2014

I’ve never been a huge anime/manga fanatic.  In my childhood, I grew up with Sailor Moon as my first exposure to “anime”.  However, I didn’t see it like an obsession or an interest where I would be dressing up as one of the characters.  It was simply a fun TV show that I watched.   Continue reading

Eating Tacos at Seven Lives – Tacos y Mariscos

Located at 69 Kensington Avenue in Toronto

Seven Lives – Tacos y Mariscos is a taco joint in Kensington Market that is extremely popular.  It specializes in “So-Cal/Baja style seafood”.  I thought it was a sit-down restaurant, but to my surprise, when I got there, there are only 2 main tables and a standing table connected to the wall for guests.   Continue reading
